Premier League fantasy - dealing with the blank FA Cup weekend

ESPN FC's Mark Donaldson highlights his top fantasy Premier League picks ahead of a FA Cup heavy weekend.

Just six gameweeks to go in the Premier League season and it's incredibly tight at the top of the fantasy leaderboard.

Only one point separates the top two teams, with a mere 25 points between first and seventh.

It means every transfer and selection decision is crucial, and now we have reached the point of the season when using transfers wisely can make a season.

It's FA Cup semifinal weekend, so six teams will be without a match in this gameweek. Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool will all be in...

Crystal Palace's Glenn Murray is one of the Premier League season's best bargains and is a good pick to continue his hot run.

Saturday, April 18

Crystal Palace vs. West Bromwich Albion

The Eagles are surging under manager Alan Pardew and have had good production from Glenn Murray (5.8),  who has three goals and three assists in the last three matches. Yannick Bolasie (5.8) had a hat trick last time out, but he rarely...

Fantasy follow-up: Week 32

A big weekend in the Premier League saw Louis van Gaal and Manchester United take another step closer toward a top-four finish, a masked Cesc Fabregas lift Chelsea at Loftus Road, Tim Sherwood victorious against his former team and much more.

Arsenal's late-season push highlighted a week that included a bunch of unlikely goal-scorers.

Outstanding performances

Sergio Aguero, Manchester City (9.9)

The Argentine broke a five-game goal drought by scoring City's first and last goals. In between, he saw his team manhandled by Manchester United. Aguero is the co-leader in fantasy points among forwards, with 160.

Ashley Young, Manchester United (5.9)

The Englishman was brilliant against Manchester City, with a goal and two assists.

Yannick Bolasie,...

Fantasy preview: Week 32

ESPN FC's Mark Donaldson highlights his top picks for Premier League fantasy managers, in regards to players under 7 million.

Ten matches are scheduled over three days with one game to check announced lineups before the ESPN FC fantasy game locks: Swansea-Everton.

Saturday, April 11

Swansea (13-7-11) vs. Everton (9-10-12)

Swansea's goal-scoring solution seems to be Bafetimbi Gomis (6.2). The French forward has found the net three times in his last two games.

Everton hope their leading scorer, Romelu Lukaku (7.8) will be fit to play.

Southampton (16-5-10) vs. Hull (6-10-15)

Southampton remain the stingiest...

Fantasy follow-up: Week 31

Week 31 in the Premier League produced many memorable goals, defining moment and strange goal celebrations.

Fantasy managers had a chance for two games each for QPR and Aston Villa. Villa's Christian Benteke (6.7) was the best pick with 22 points and double that if picked as the fantasy captain.

Outstanding performances

Eden Hazard, Chelsea (10.4)
Scored a penalty and had an assist in the Stoke victory and is the top fantasy point producer with 194.

Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal (9.4)
Joined the fun against Liverpool with a goal and an assist. His 189 fantasy points rank him second best in the league.

Premier League fantasy Team of the Month for March

ESPN FC's Mark Donaldson stresses the importance of having a solid keeper in your fantasy squad.

Crystal Palace and Liverpool are the leading teams in the Fantasy Team of the Month for March, with two players each.

Southampton once again proved astute defensive acquisitions, with three of their players eligible for selection -- though only one of them actually made the squad due to value for money calculations.

More surprising is the shortage of players from the Premier League's top six clubs in the XI, with not one player from Chelsea, the Premier League leaders, or Manchester United. There's...
