FC Talking Points: Euro predictions, Bale vs. Ronaldo, Man Utd transfers

The semifinals are set at Euro 2016, with Wales set to face Portugal on Wednesday, July 6, and Germany playing France on Thursday, July 7 (both at 9 p.m. CEST/3 p.m. ET on ESPN).

The coaches and players will say Portugal-Wales is not all about Cristiano Ronaldo against Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale, but fans know better. There has always been speculation about how these two co-exist at the Bernabeu, now fans around the world will get to see how they operate as opponents in a match with a spot in the Euro final at stake.

Manchester United confirmed two signings this week, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic finally completing his move to Old Trafford and Borussia Dortmund confirming that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will also be playing for Jose Mourinho in 2016-17.

Lionel Messi announced he was retiring from international football after Argentina's heartbreaking loss to Chile on penalties in the Copa America Centenario final last Sunday. Ever since, fans, teammates and, of course, Diego Maradona have been weighing in on Messi's decision.
