England can get World Cup revenge on Croatia by relegating them in Nations League
The UEFA Nations League -- Europe's newest national-team competition -- gets interesting this weekend with promotion, relegation and finals places up for grabs. We've got all the best betting angles covered, including Sunday's crunch clash between England and Croatia.
Running total: -£31.46
England have lost only one of their past 11 matches at Wembley, and with their Nations League destiny still to be decided -- the Three Lions would be relegated should they lose -- they might be worth a punt at 5/6 to beat Croatia on Sunday. Gareth Southgate's men famously came up short in that World Cup semifinal in Russia but played well when the teams met in Rijeka, Croatia, during a 0-0 draw recently. England have moved away from the three-man defence they favoured in Russia to a 4-3-3 formation in their past two matches, presumably to try to accommodate emerging talents such as Jadon Sancho and add another dimension to their attack. Sancho has been on fire for Borussia Dortmund this season, and if he gets the nod at Wembley, the youngster can help steer England to victory.
Selection: £6 on England to win at 5/6 with bet365.
The First Goal Flutter
Christian Eriksen scored twice and generally bossed proceedings as Denmark eased to a 2-0 victory over Wales in September, and the Spurs man looks a big price at 13/2 to score first in Cardiff on Friday. Gareth Bale is in the Welsh squad and is favourite with the bookmakers to open the scoring, but Eriksen looks a better shout given Wales have won just one of their past five home internationals.

The Tasty Treble
Belgium (11/10) have enough quality to see off a Switzerland side unbeaten in 11 matches at home. The Red Devils beat Switzerland 2-1 in Brussels last month, and in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne will again look to talisman Eden Hazard to get them over the line in Lucerne. Austria look worth a punt at evens when they face a Northern Ireland side who've failed to score in seven of their past 10 matches. Marko Arnautovic proved the difference when the teams met last time out, and the West Ham man can help his side to victory again. Finally, Scotland (27/20) also look a bet to see off a poor Albania side. Alex McLeish's side ran out 2-0 winners at home in the reverse fixture in September and can do the business again with Albania missing a couple of key players through suspension. The European threefold with bet365 comes in at just under 9/1 and looks interesting.
Selection: £2 on the treble at 8.87/1 with bet365.
The Euro Wager
Antoine Griezmann looks worth considering at 4/1 to score first when France face the Netherlands in Rotterdam. The Atletico Madrid striker has looked sharp so far this season and scored twice in the second half last month as the world champions came from behind to beat Germany 2-1. Friday's clash will definitely be worth watching as the Dutch ate improving under Ronald Koeman, but Griezmann loves this sort of occasion and can set France on their way.
The Wild-Card Tip
Portugal's place in the Nations League semifinals looks assured with the European champions having claimed maximum points so far. They know a draw against Italy in Milan on Saturday night will be enough to rubber-stamp their progress, and with the likes of Ruben Neves and Bernardo Silva catching the eye in recent matches they won't fear the Azzurri, who have not looked massively impressive in their three games so far.
