Juventus and Tottenham to win? Man City to thrash Shakhtar?

A profitable weekend for the column with our treble landing and, but for a blatant Sol Bamba handball to deny Jamie Vardy a goal, we would also have scored with another 15/1 winner. The Champions League returns this week and we feel Juventus and Tottenham should encounter few problems against Manchester United and PSV Eindhoven respectively.

Running total: -£8.86

The Banker

Juventus (4/7) and Tottenham (4/11) both look good to win at home in Europe this week. Juventus are top of Serie A and warmed up for their return clash with the Red Devils by beating Cagliari 3-1 at the weekend. Indeed it's difficult to see how United's defence -- who have not kept a clean sheet since drawing 0-0 with Valencia on Oct. 2 -- will be able to keep them out in Turin. Meanwhile, Spurs will try and rescue their Champions League campaign by beating PSV on Tuesday. Mauricio Pochettino's men have claimed just one point from three games so far but dominated for long periods when drawing 2-2 in Eindhoven and would probably have won the game had they not had Hugo Lloris sent off with 12 minutes left. Look for them to set the record straight at Wembley and the Juventus-Tottenham double looks banker material at just over 11/10.

Selection: £6 on the Juventus - Tottenham double at 1.14/1 with bet365.

The Tasty Treble

Barcelona have won three straight games since Lionel Messi broke a bone in his right arm but the Argentine could return against Inter Milan on Tuesday and for this reason we feel the Blaugrana look a bet at evens. Messi has only played 180 minutes of Champions League football this season, but amazingly already has five goals to his name. As stated, Juventus should have too much quality for Manchester United and it may be worth backing them at 8/5 to cover a one-goal handicap at the Allianz Stadium. Finally add in Valencia at 4/9 for a Champions League threefold paying better than 13/2 with bet365.

Selection: £2 on the treble at 6.51/1 with bet365.

The Euro Wager

It's still all up for grabs in Group C where Napoli host Paris Saint-Germain this week. The teams drew 2-2 in Paris with Napoli just seconds away from taking maximum points in the French capital before Angel Di Maria intervened. It should be another close game in Naples but the presence of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe could prove the difference on this occasion.

Selection: £2 on PSG to win and both teams to score at 11/4 with bet365.

The Wildcard Tip

Thierry Henry has hardly set Ligue 1 alight after taking over as Monaco boss and it's amazing to think that the Principality club have not won a game of football since Aug. 11. Club Brugge may not be a European superpower but under the circumstances look worth a punt to win in the sovereign city-state.

Selection: £1 on Club Brugge to win and both teams to score at 5/1 with bet365.

The Bookie Basher

Manchester City were at their scintillating best as they cruised to a 6-1 win over Southampton on Sunday and Pep Guardiola's side are 9/2 favourites to win the Champions League this season. They should be too strong again for Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday evening, where a 3-0 win can be backed at 6/1.

Selection: £1 on Manchester City to win 3-0 at 6/1 with bet365.
