Harry Kane tipped to score as England look to hit back against Switzerland

UEFA Nations League: Danny Welbeck goal disallowed (90'+7') England 1-2 Spain
Marcus Rashford's opener was offset by goals from Saúl Ñíguez and Rodrigo to give Spain a 2-1 away win over England.

Followers of the column were seriously unlucky over the weekend after a string of near misses. Firstly, England had an injury-time Danny Welbeck leveller controversially chalked off against Spain, while Northern Ireland's injury-time consolation goal against Bosnia cost us an 11/4 winner. Italy's failure to beat Poland despite being odds-on shots in Bologna also scuppered a 7/1 treble. We dust ourselves off and go again this week however with another busy round of international action.

The Banker

Spain face World Cup runners up Croatia on Tuesday in a game that could have football purists everywhere purring. Croatia were superb during their run in Russia, led by the mercurial Luka Modric who was eventually named the best player of the tournament. Spain got the better of England on Saturday but face an entirely different test against Croatia, who are technically excellent and who will make it difficult for La Roja to play the possession, pressing football so beloved of Luis Enrique. Spain are odds on for the win but a better bet could be taking the even money on both teams scoring in Elche as the Spanish didn't look massively impressive defensively last time out and in truth had David De Gea to thank for that 2-1 win at Wembley.

Selection: £5 on both teams to score at evens with bet365

The Tasty Treble

England look a bit short at 4/6 given they won't be at full strength against Switzerland, who smashed six without reply past Iceland at the weekend. It should be an open game at the King Power so even money on both teams scoring looks decent. Elsewhere, Belgium looked brilliant as they put Scotland to the sword on Friday evening and they can follow that up by beating Iceland on Tuesday. Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku were both on target for the Red Devils during a 4-0 stroll, while Iceland were drubbed by the Swiss. Belgium have dominated against Iceland in recent years, having won all nine previous matches. With this in mind backing Belgium to cover a one goal handicap at 6/5 looks the way to go in Reykjavik. Finally back Poland (11/20) to see off a Republic of Ireland side in transition for a treble with bet365 paying better than 11/2.

Selection: £2 on the treble at 5.82/1 with bet365

The First Goal Flutter

Gareth Southgate insists he will ring the changes for the Three Lions in Tuesday's friendly against Switzerland, even if this means risking a fourth defeat on the trot for England for the first time in their history. Despite an exciting campaign at the World Cup Southgate's men have now lost their last three internationals -- their worst run of results since 1988. Harry Kane is set to start against the Swiss however, and the Spurs star looks the logical choice to score first at 13/5 with bet365.

Selection: £2.50 on Kane to score first at 13/5 with bet365

The Wildcard Tip

Colombia face an experimental Argentina side at the MetLife Stadium this week and with the likes of Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero missing it's difficult to see why La Albiceleste remain such warm favourites to win. Argentina were really erratic during the World Cup, failing to keep a clean sheet in four matches before being dumped out by France and if with their defensive woes set to continue in the USA, 6/1 about Colombia winning and both teams scoring looks big.

Selection: £1 on Colombia to win and both teams to score at 6/1 with bet365
