Gareth Bale to get Ryan Giggs' Wales up and running in UEFA Nations League

DeAndre Yedlin's shock leveller at the Etihad scuppered our banker bet at the weekend while Roma's inability to beat AC Milan also cost us. The focus turns to the international stage this week with the start of the UEFA Nations League and we've got all the best betting angles covered.

Running total: -£18.29

The Banker

World champions France look worth a punt to win in Germany, with the pressure firmly on Joachim Low. Low has had fantastic success as German boss but all good things come to an end and his insistence on siding with the old guard in the German dressing room, rather than putting his faith in youth, could prove his downfall. Germany were an absolute shambles at the World Cup, losing to Mexico and South Korea, and France look a good bet here after that fantastic run in Russia which culminated in them beating Croatia 4-2 in a memorable final.

Selection: £5.50 on France (Draw No Bet) to beat Germany at 10/11 withbet365

The Tasty Treble

Wales look a solid price at 11/10 to beat Republic of Ireland in Cardiff. The Irish don't look to have the strongest squad on paper and can't be happy with the furore over Declan Rice, who is considering an option to play for England despite already earning three Irish caps. The key to this fixture will be Gareth Bale who is all set to start in the Welsh capital and should prove the difference. France (9/5) might be too strong for a Germany side who have clearly seen better days while adding Serbia (4/7) to win in Lithuania offers a UEFA Nations League treble paying better than 8/1.

Selection: £3 on the treble at 8.24/1 with bet365

The Euro Wager

Wales boss Ryan Giggs insists there will be no thoughts of revenge when his team face the Republic of Ireland in their Nations League opener, despite this being the first meeting since the Republic ended Wales' 2018 World Cup hopes. Chris Coleman was in charge for that clash of course, and it's now a new era under Giggs, who will be playing his first game on home soil as manager after three games in China and the US. Look for Wales to get out of the blocks quickly and if they do 2/1 about them being ahead at half time looks big.

Selection: £2 on Wales to be ahead at half time at 2/1 with bet365

The Wildcard Tip

France were worthy winners in Russia and kept four clean sheets in seven matches. They have some real quality in defence with the likes of Benjamin Mendy, Raphael Varane and Samuel Umtiti, while the marauding N'Golo Kante offers further defensive cover from midfield. Do Germany have the quality to breach them on Thursday? We are not so sure and for this reason like the look of France to win to nil at 4/1 with bet365.

Selection: £2 on France to win to nil at 4/1 with bet365
