The Home Banker
Lee Johnson's Bristol City are huge underdogs as they travel to the Etihad to meet Manchester City in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semifinal on Tuesday. His side famously beat Manchester United 2-1 at Ashton Gate to secure their semifinal berth and they've also accounted for Watford, Stoke and Crystal Palace in this season's competition. And while winning in Manchester may be beyond them -- they are priced up at 25/1 to spring a shock -- they certainly have enough quality to get on the scoresheet against Pep Guardiola's men. It's 11/10 that both teams find the net and that looks a fair price given that both teams like to get forward in numbers.
The Tasty Treble
Chelsea and Arsenal played out a breathless 2-2 draw in the Premier League just last week and the pair lock horns again on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge. The Blues were excellent at the Emirates and it took an injury time equaliser from Hector Bellerin to deny them all three points. On Wednesday they can make home advantage count and look a decent price at 17/20. In the Copa del Rey Valencia (2/5) should be too good for Las Palmas while Espanyol (7/4) could be worth siding with to win at Levante. The latter won 2-1 when the pair met in the first leg of their round of 16 clash last Thursday but Espanyol had plenty of chances and will be confident of turning the tie around. The treble is paying better than 6/1 with bet365.
The Euro Wager
Real Madrid may now be 16 points behind Barcelona in La Liga but will be confident of finishing the job against Numancia when the pair meet this week in the Copa del Rey. Los Blancos won the first leg 3-0 with Gareth Bale opening the scoring and while Zinedine Zidane is expected to ring the changes, they have enough strength in depth to ease past the Segunda Division outfit. Real Madrid to win and both teams to score looks the bet here and can be backed at 6/4.
The Wildcard Tip
Barcelona's round of 16 tie with Celta Vigo is delicately poised after the teams drew 1-1 last week. However, back at the Camp Nou it's hard to look beyond a Barca win and backing a 3-1 home victory could be the way to go. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were both rested for that first leg but both should return on Thursday and can help fire Barca into the quarterfinals.
The Bookie Basher
Chelsea's Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal should produce goals if last week's Premier League encounter is anything to go by and a 3-1 win for the Blues is not beyond the realms of possibility. Eden Hazard was a constant threat against the Gunners and the brilliant Belgian can help Antonio Conte's men secure a first leg victory at Stamford Bridge.
