Man United to beat Benfica; Tottenham to upset Real Madrid
Watford's failure to beat Stoke City cost the column dearly at the weekend but the Champions League returns this week and Manchester United look a rock solid proposition to beat Benfica.

The Home Banker
A 1-0 win in Portugal helped Manchester United take charge of Group A and they look worth following to make it back-to-back Champions League wins against Benfica on Tuesday. It took a ludicrous error from young goalkeeper Miles Svilar to get the Red Devils over the line at the Estadio da Luz but defensively they were rarely troubled and are just shy of even money to win this without conceding. Jose Mourinho's men kept another clean sheet at the weekend as they beat Tottenham 1-0 at Old Trafford and they have a 100 percent record so far at the Theatre of Dreams, where defensively they have been exceptional.
The Tasty Treble
Bayern Munich breezed past Celtic 3-0 on matchday three and they look good to follow that up by winning in Glasgow. Celtic may be head and shoulders above anyone domestically but have found life difficult in Group B and, realistically, the best they can hope for is a third place finish and a passage into the Europa League. Elsewhere Sevilla will have revenge in mind as they face Spartak Moscow. The Russians recorded a shock 5-1 win against the Spanish outfit earlier this month on home soil but are notoriously poor travellers and look up against it in Spain. Finally, Basel know a win over CSKA Moscow will seal qualification into the knockout stages. The Swiss champions won 2-0 in Russia last time out and are fast turning into the surprise package of this season's competition.
Selection: £2 on the treble at 2.75/1 with bet365.
The Euro Wager
Tottenham could be playing Real Madrid at the right time after the reigning European champions lost 2-1 to Girona on Sunday. The most worrying thing about the result for Los Blancos was the fact it was no smash-and-grab raid, with the Spanish minnows hitting the post twice in the first half. It was a shocking performance from Zinedine Zidane's men, who could only draw 1-1 with Spurs at the Bernabeu. Much will depend on the fitness of Harry Kane but under the circumstances Spurs look live underdogs here at 12/5.
Selection: £2.50 on Tottenham to win at 12/5 with bet365.
The Wildcard Tip
Manchester City are sweeping past all before them in the Premier League and also look serious contenders in Europe this season. The latest test of their credentials sees them head to Italy where they look worth backing to beat Napoli. Pep Guardiola's side have won all three of their Group F games so far and will be confident of chalking up another win on Italian soil in a game where goals could again be on the agenda.
The Bookie Basher
Liverpool recorded their best ever result in Europe as they won 7-0 against Maribor and rather unsurprisingly they are in the betting to win the return fixture at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp's men look a class above their Slovenian opponents and a 3-0 correct score can be backed at 11/2 with bet365.
Selection: £1 on Liverpool to win 3-0 at 11:2 with bet365.
