Leicester to take down Liverpool in Carabao Cup, Crystal Palace to win?
The weekend column failed to turn a profit but hope springs eternal with a busy set of midweek fixtures including action from the Carabao Cup and La Liga.

The Home Banker
Given Liverpool's defensive deficiencies and the fact they are involved in Champions League football this season (and so likely to rotate their squad heavily), it is pleasantly surprising to see Leicester City chalked up at better than 2/1 to win Tuesday's Carabao Cup clash.
In fairness Jurgen Klopp has a decent record in this competition but the League Cup will be some way down on Liverpool's list of priorities this term. Leicester -- who have no European distractions -- were impressive 4-1 winners at Sheffield United in the last round and look a great bet here, especially when you factor in that Liverpool have won only one of their last four visits to the King Power stadium.
Selection: £5 on Leicester City to win at 11/5 with bet365.
The Tasty Treble
Crystal Palace have endured a wretched start to the Premier League season, losing their opening five games and failing to score in that sequence. However they should be backed to gain revenge over Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup, a team who beat them 3-0 at Selhurst Park back in August.
Elsewhere Tony Pulis -- a boss who has never held the League Cup in very high esteem -- looks certain to ring the changes for West Brom when Manchester City come to the Hawthorns and Pep Guardiola's men have to be fancied to continue their strong start to the season. Throw in Aston Villa to beat Middlesbrough in the same competition and you have a tidy treble paying better than 5/1.
Selection: £1 on the treble at 5.01/1 with bet365.
The Euro Wager
There is a full round of midweek La Liga fixtures and Atletico Madrid look an eye catching price at 23/20 with bet365 to win at Athletic Bilbao. The latter lost 1-0 at Las Palmas on Sunday while Diego Simeone's side remain unbeaten in the league. Antoine Griezmann scored his first La Liga goal of the season on Saturday to sink Malaga and the Frenchman can help his side claim another precious three points here.
Selection: £2 on Atletico Madrid to win at 23/20 with be365.
The Wildcard Tip
The third round of the EFL Cup is traditionally laden with goals so it could pay to try a speculative "both teams to score and win" roll up this week. Backing Chelsea to beat Nottingham Forest and both teams to score, Everton to do likewise against Sunderland and West Ham to prevail against Bolton could be the way to go.
The Bookie Basher
Real Madrid looked excellent at the weekend as they beat Real Sociedad away and they have the firepower to blast past Real Betis at the Bernabeu. A 5-0 result is chalked up as an 11/1 chance with bet365 and could land if Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio are in the mood.
Selection: £1 on Real Madrid to win 5-0 at 11/1 with bet365.
