LIVE Transfer Talk: Barcelona ready to end dispute over Antoine Griezmann's future with Atletico Madrid

The summer transfer window is closed for the major leagues in Europe. However, with an eye on January, there's plenty of gossip swirling about who's moving where. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Barcelona willing to end standoff with Atletico Madrid over Antoine Griezmann

Barcelona are pushing to end their dispute with Atletico Madrid over the loan of Antoine Griezmann, and they are willing to settle the issue for a €25 million fee, according to Mundo Deportivo.

In the summer of 2021, Griezmann joined Atletico on a loan that is due to end upon this season's culmination. But there is the looming possibility that the courts could get involved when that time comes, although Barcelona want to find an amicable solution instead.

Barca's current position is that Atletico have triggered the contract clause to make Griezmann's loan a permanent transfer because he exceeded 50% of games played while with Madrid. However, Atletico argue that the 50% threshold applies across the two years of the loan.

Barcelona want to recoup some of the money they spent to sign Griezmann, while Atletico manager Diego Simeone wants to be able to use the attacker freely without concerns around triggering the €40m clause. Up until last week's Madrid derby where Griezmann started, Simeone has only fielded the Frenchman for 30 minutes or less as a substitute.

While there has been no direct contact, per the report, Barca want to negotiate, and despite the disputed contract clause's price, they are willing to accept a minimum of €25m, which is €15m less than they were asking. In addition, Barcelona are seeking to find a solution before the first weekend in January, so that this doesn't interfere with the match played between the two clubs.

Griezmann may not be privy to all of the intricacies of the negotiations, but is said to hope this will be sorted quickly so he can help Atletico without the restrictions imposed by the clause -- especially as he'll need as many minutes as possible ahead of the World Cup.

21.17 BST: Lille forward Jonathan Bamba's representatives were due to hold talks with Real Betis about a potential move on Friday, according to Foot Mercato.

Bamba joined Lille from Saint-Etienne in 2018 and has made 173 appearances for the club since then, scoring 26 goals. The winger was also a key part of the side who won Ligue 1 against the odds in 2020-21.

With Bamba's contract expiring in June, he is reportedly keen to explore other options after four years at Lille. Betis and LaLiga could be an option for the 26-year-old, who is free to discuss offers from elsewhere in January.

20.24 BST: AS Monaco defender Axel Disasi has confirmed Paris Saint-Germain made contact with him this summer in an interview with RMC Sport. The 24-year-old has impressed for the Principality since joining from Stade de Reims in 2020, and his performance in a 1-1 with PSG in August led to the Parc des Princes club exploring a move for the centre-back.

"There was contact, it's true," Disasi said. "It's true it also intensified after the match in Paris.

"It's always nice to be linked to Paris Saint-Germain. I'm someone ambitious, PSG is a very ambitious club. Afterwards, I was good at AS Monaco, we got to the end of the window, my coach and the directors have faith in me."

19.31 BST: Having already spent an exorbitant amount over the summer on teenagers, Chelsea are preparing to splash the cash Fulham attacker Luke Harris, reports the Mirror. The 17-year-old has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Cottagers, yet their west London rivals are already prepared to table an offer including a £30m transfer fee.

The Blues have had their eyes on the Wales youth international since he scored a hat trick against Chelsea in an under-21s game between the clubs earlier this year. Harris is the latest youth starlet to potentially be snapped up by a big-money Premier League rival, following in the footsteps of Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho, but the Stamford Bridge hierarchy are targeting a player whose potential is said to eclipse that of the prodigies who've come before him at Craven Cottage.

18.38 BST: Juventus are interested in signing Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Asensio is out of favour at Madrid, having made just four appearances so far this season -- all from the bench. His contract expires next summer, meaning he is able to speak to other clubs about a possible move away from the Bernabeu in January.

The 26-year-old did not rule out a shock transfer to Madrid's Clasico rivals Barcelona when asked about it recently, and Juve appear to have joined the list of clubs who could offer him a way out.

Asensio has scored 50 goals in 239 games for Real since joining from Mallorca in 2014, helping them to win three LaLiga titles and three Champions League trophies among other honours.

17.45 BST: Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has revealed his hopes to play in the Premier League one day amid interest from Arsenal.

The Gunners and Brentford were both interested in signing the Ukraine international in the summer, as were Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, but he remained at Shakhtar to aid their Champions League campaign.

When asked in an interview with The Times if he planned to come to England in the future he replied: "Yes, yes, it is possible. The Premier League is the best league in the world and everyone wants to play in this league."

16.32 BST: Inter Milan have made contact about a possible move for Villarreal left-back Alfonso Pedraza, according to Marca.

The Serie A side are said to be keen on strengthening the left-hand side of defence, where they have Robin Gosens, Matteo Darmian and Danilo D'Ambrosio at present, and reportedly see Pedraza as a strong alternative.

Pedraza, 26, came through Villarreal's academy and has made 143 appearances for them since his senior debut in 2015. Gazzetta dello Sport reported Inter were interested in the player and Marca say they have now taken the first steps to sign him after showing interest in the summer.

The move may not come about as Pedraza signed a contract extension until 2026 in May. Unai Emery's side are also short of players at left-back, with Pervis Estupinan having signed for Brighton this summer and Alberto Moreno returning from a long-term injury.

15.21 BST: Manchester United are considering not extending goalkeeper David de Gea's contract as a way of lowering their wage bill, the Daily Telegraph reports.

De Gea, who turns 32 in November, is out of contract in the summer but has a clause in his deal which allows United to add a further year to his long tenure at the club.

United announced this week that their wage bill rose by 19.1% to £384m last year, while they also made a net loss of £115.5m.

De Gea signed a new contract worth £350,000 a week in 2019, making him the club;'s highest earner before Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford last season.

13.42 BST: Juventus lost a record €254m ($246m) in the financial year ending June 30, as revenue fell and costs rose during the Italian club's first trophyless campaign in a decade.

The financial situation raises fears that they will struggle to keep hold of players coveted by other top European sides such as Dusan Vlahovic (see 11:48 BST), Manuel Locatelli and Federico Chiesa.

In a statement late on Friday, Juventus said it would also finish the 2022-23 financial year in the red, as it continues to feel the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It's the fifth consecutive year Juventus have reported a loss, and it's €44.4m more than in 2020-21.

The bleak financial outlook coincides with a tough start to the new season for Italy's most successful side, who sit eighth in this season's Serie A table.

12.44 BST: Barcelona are looking into how to bring Lionel Messi back to the club, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Messi, 35, is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2023 and has an option to extend the deal for another season. The 35-year-old will not make a decision regarding his future until after the World Cup.

Barca want to honour their former captain and are considering various options, whether to name him club ambassador or sign him as a free agent in 2023.

For Messi to return to play for Barca, the Argentina star would have to lower his wages in order to be within the financial fair play rules. He would also have to accept having a secondary role at the club.

11.48 BST: Arsenal are planning to make moves for Juventus duo Dusan Vlahovic and Fabio Miretti in January, CalcioMercatoWeb reports.

The Gunners were linked with striker Vlahovic last season, only for the Serbia international to choose a move to Turin instead when he left Fiorentina in January. The 22-year-old has since scored 13 goals for the Bianconeri, including four in eight appearances this term.

Meanwhile, Italy U21 midfielder Miretti is also on Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta's radar. The 19-year-old has made nine appearances for Juve this season, having made his first-team debut in December.

10.51 BST: Barcelona's veteran midfielder Sergio Busquets says he hasn't made a decision regarding his future.

Busquets, 34, becomes a free agent next summer and has not signed a new contract with the club where he has spent his entire professional career.

Mundo Deportivo reports that the Spain international has already decided to end his 14-year association with Barca next summer and accept an offer from MLS side Inter Miami.

"I can't say anything regarding my future because there's nothing new," Busquets said. "Nothing has happened because of all the rumours that have emerged. There's nothing official. I will see how I feel throughout the season. I want to enjoy it and then see. It's clear I'm not 20 years old anymore."

Asked whether Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who Barca are reportedly monitoring, would be a good option to replace him, he said: "Zubimendi is a great player, but he is a player of La Real. I don't know if Barca are interested."

09.57 BST: Valencia captain Jose Luis Gaya is on the verge of signing a new five-year contract extension with the club, according to Cadena COPE.

The Spain international, who has been part of Valencia's first-team squad since 2014, becomes a free agent next summer.

Gaya, 27, wants to remain with Los Che and has agreed a new long-term deal that will soon be made official.

09.00 BST: Inter Milan are considering signing Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado as a free agent at the end of the season, according to Calciomercato.

Cuadrado is under contract in Turin until next summer and has so far turned down all contract extension offers. The 34-year-old wants to consider his options and Inter are monitoring his situation closely.

The Colombia international joined Juve on an initial loan deal from Chelsea in 2015 and signed a permanent contract with the Bianconeri in 2017.

The Nerazzurri signed Hakan Calhanoglu as a free agent in 2021 after his contract expired with AC Milan and made a similar move this summer when they added Henrikh Mkhitaryan for free after his contract with Roma finished.

- Liverpool and Manchester United are both monitoring Flamengo midfielder Joao Gomes, although ESPN's Tim Vickery has stated on talkSPORT that this isn't the first time the Red Devils have looked at the 21-year-old. "It looked like they [United] might have been interested in him when Andreas Pereira was on loan from United at Flamengo," Vickery explained. "In the end [Pereira] ended up going to Fulham. There was speculation that in exchange for that deal they might take Joao Gomes, but they didn't."

- Sport Bild have reported that Bayern Munich have a clause that would allow them to re-sign Tanguy Nianzou from Sevilla for €50m, which rises to €55m from Sept. 19, 2023. The 20-year-old Frenchman joined the club in LaLiga for €16m in August, with that fee potentially going up to €20m.

- There have already been plenty of names linked with Juventus for the summer transfer window in 2023, and La Gazzetta dello Sport report that I Bianconeri are looking at Real Madrid's Marco Asensio and Benfica's Alejandro Grimaldo. Juventus are particularly keen to strengthen in the wide areas of their attack and in defence, and both of the players named would be available as free agents with their current contracts ending next summer.

- Massimiliano Allegri is under pressure following a torrid run of form for Juventus, which has seen them go five consecutive matches in all competitions without a single victory, and Tuttosport have compiled a list of seven managers who could replace the Italian if he leaves: Thomas Tuchel, Paolo Montero, Mauricio Pochettino, Paulo Sousa, Zinedine Zidane, Didier Deschamps and Roberto Mancini.
