TOP STORY: Neves to Barca gaining steam
Wolverhampton Wanderers talisman Ruben Neves could be the most likely of Barcelona's three midfield targets to join in the summer, according to Diario Sport.
Xavi Hernandez has been looking at options to strengthen in the middle of the pitch -- a point he underscored on Sunday after a draw with Getafe clinched a distant second in LaLiga for Barca behind Real Madrid -- which could become an even more important task with Frenkie de Jong being linked with a move to Manchester United.
The three main options discussed for the Blaugrana have been AS Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni, Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi and Neves.
Contact had recently been made with Tchouameni, but Barca will need to wait despite the club being an attractive prospect for the France international. That is because Monaco want to bring in the highest transfer fee they can amid interest from Real and various Premier League clubs.
Zubimendi is somebody Xavi likes, says the report, but La Real are asking for his €60 million release clause to be triggered, which is an issue for Barcelona.
Therefore, the Catalans are progressing with a deal for Neves as the Portugal international's agent, Jorge Mendes, hopes to agree favourable terms.
Barcelona could also try to send a player to Wolves as part of a deal with Ez Abde, Nico Gonzalez, Alejandro Balde, Riqui Puig or Oscar Mingueza among those who could go the other way.
The story also adds that Neves would be "delighted" to play for Barcelona.

21.43 BST: Josip Brekalo is set to return to VfL Wolfsburg after deciding against remaining at Torino, where the Croatia international spent the season on loan. Speaking on the 23-year-old winger's future, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Torino director Davide Vagnati said: "We wanted to trigger the buy option clause for Brekalo but he does not want to continue here."
21.10 BST: Women's Super League star Adriana Leon could be set to leave West Ham United for Real Madrid, writes the Athletic. Despite the English side being keen to extend her contract, it is reported that talks have already begun with Las Blancas, who are keen to sign the Canada women's national team winger on a free transfer.
20.37 BST: A number of clubs within Italy and around Europe have enquired about Juventus winger Federico Bernardeschi, according to Calciomercato. The 28-year-old Italy international is set to become a free agent in the summer, and it is reported that Inter Milan, AC Milan as well as clubs in the Premier League have already made contact over a potential deal in the summer.
20.04 BST: Barcelona are closer to reaching an agreement over a contract extension for midfielder Gavi, reports Marca. After an initial breakdown in talks, it is reported that the two parties are now closer to reaching an extension following positive talks between his representatives and the Camp Nou hierarchy. The Blaugrana are keen to hand the 17-year-old Spain international a new deal until 2028, that includes a €1 billion release clause.
19.27 BST: FC Porto are tracking Saint-Etienne defender Yvann Macon, writes L'Equipe. It is reported that the 23-year-old can be signed for a transfer fee in the region of €4m, with the Primeira Liga side sending scouts to keep a close eye on the progress of the France youth international.
18.44 BST: Manchester United are interested in signing Ajax centre-back Jurrien Timber, according to Sky Sport Germany's Florian Plettenberg. Bayern Munich have recently been linked with a move for the 20-year-old Netherlands international, but it looks as though Erik ten Hag has marked him as a player he would like to bring with him to Old Trafford.
17.55 BST: Maxwel Cornet could become a target for Premier League sides in the summer, with his £17.5m release clause set to activate if Burnley are relegated, reports the Athletic. The 25-year-old winger has been their top scorer this season with eight goals in 24 league appearances, though they may struggle to hold onto him if they fail to avoid the drop, with the latest indicating that a number of clubs are already keeping tabs on his situation.
17.00 BST: Following reports of Bayern Munich's interest in VfB Stuttgart front man Sasa Kalajdzic, the Bundesliga champions have made contact with his representatives, according to Sport1. The 24-year-old Austria international is reported to be a potential replacement should Robert Lewandowski leave in the summer, with belief that he fits the profile of the target Julian Nagelsmann wants to acquire to reinforce his forward line, having scored six goals in 13 Bundesliga starts this season.
15.58 BST: Manchester United's Dean Henderson continues to be a transfer target for Newcastle United, reports the Daily Mirror.
The 25-year-old has failed to dislodge David De Gea from the No. 1 position at Old Trafford, and is desperate to move on for first-team football.
The England international hasn't made a single Premier League appearance this season, restricted to 16 matches in the cup competitions.
The report says that Newcastle consider Henderson to be the perfect long-term addition as they reshape their squad after the Saudi Arabia-led takeover earlier this season, and a transfer fee of £20m could seal the transfer.
15.13 BST: Juventus have added Arsenal defender Gabriel to their list of possible transfer targets, according to Tuttosport.
Gabriel, 24, has been with the Gunners for two seasons after joining the club from Lille.
Juve's first choice is to sign Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina, with the defender about to move into the final year of his contract. If not, Gabriel is seen as a back-up option.
14.31 BST: Barcelona will listen to offers for goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen this summer if it helps fund their transfer plans elsewhere, according to Diario Sport.
Coach Xavi Hernandez hopes to overhaul the squad after a trophy-less season, but he has admitted any incomings will depend on the club's financial situation.
Barca currently have a spending cap of -€144 million imposed on them by LaLiga -- the only negative limit in the league -- and can only spend 25% of what they save on salaries or make in transfers.
Therefore, the club could be forced to entertain transfer offers for players they would not ordinarily consider allowing to leave, such as midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who has drawn interest from Manchester City and Manchester United.
Sport reports that Germany international Ter Stegen is another squad member the club feel they could get good funds for, suggesting he could bring in around €45m.
Any money made in transfers would be re-invested in the squad, with Chelsea's Andreas Christensen and AC Milan's Franck Kessie set to arrive for free this summer, while Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski is also a target.
13.44 BST: Valencia are set to allow Carlos Soler to move on this summer, according to reports.
Despite contract extension talks, the Spain midfielder has not signed a new deal with Valencia, with his agreement expiring in 12 months.
Valencia don't want to see the player leave for free in a year's and plan to receive a transfer fee for him this summer.
Soler, 25, was a reported target of Barcelona in previous transfer windows. A youth product of Valencia, Soler has been a regular player for the first team since January 2017. He is Valencia's leading goal scorer this season with 12 goals in all competitions.
13.00 BST: Inter Milan director Beppe Marotta wants Ivan Perisic to stay at the club next season.
Perisic, 33, has been linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer when his contract expires but Marotta told DAZN the winger is very much part of the club's plans and they want him to sign a new deal.
"When the season has concluded, we will discuss all the situations that are still in the balance, including this one, with all due respect for the professionalism of this very talented player," Marotta said. "We will sit around a table and together make the best decision. As far as we are concerned, we certainly want to continue with him."
12.14 BST: Christian Eriksen has said he has plenty of offers for next season, and would like to play in the Champions League, but has made no decision over his future.
Eriksen, 30, has resurrected his career at Brentford this season having joined on a short-term contract. He has proven his health and fitness after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020.
The midfielder is out of contract in the summer and will have the choice of several clubs, while Brentford are desperate for him to sign a new deal.
"I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision," he told Viaplay. "I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn't essential for me."
11.30 BST: Real Madrid want Vinicius Juniour to sign a long-term contract through June 2028, according to reports.
The Brazilian forward's current deal expires in June 2024 and Madrid have been in talks with Vinicius' representatives in recent months to extend it.
Vinicius, 21, has enjoyed his best season since arriving at the Bernabeu stadium in the summer of 2018 from Flamengo. The new deal, which will see his salary more than treble to €10m net per season, will also include a €1 billion buyout clause. The Brazil international has always expressed his desire to continue at Madrid for a long time.
10.43 BST: New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has hinted that Cristiano Ronaldo will be a big part of his plans as he starts his new job at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag was speaking after his final match in charge for Dutch champions Ajax on Sunday, a 2-2 draw at Vitesse. He will begin work with United today, having decided against going on Ajax's postseason tour.
"From [Monday], my focus will be on United, and I will of course get deep into things there," Ten Hag said. "What I have to say about it is, the detailed analysis still has to begin, I still have to work with the team, but let me be clear that at United there are a lot of good players around.
"We have to make them function as a team but definitely Ronaldo, he is a giant."
Ronaldo still has one more year remaining on his contract after returning to the club from Juventus last summer.
10.00 BST: Luis Suarez will leave Atletico Madrid at the end of the season, the club announced on Sunday.
The 35-year-old has spent two years in the Spanish capital and Atletico confirmed his exit before their LaLiga home clash against Sevilla.
Suarez started Atletico's final home game and was given a standing ovation from the supporters when he was taken off in the second half.
After the match, an emotional Suarez delivered a farewell speech in front of the crowd at the Wanda Metropolitano.
"I want to thank every one of the Atletico fans, all of the staff, the people that work here every day. It's impressive the affection they showed me since I arrived, and I'll never forget it. I'm so grateful," he said.

Suarez moved to Atletico from LaLiga rivals Barcelona on a free transfer in 2020 and played a key role in helping Diego Simeone's team side claim their first league title since 2014.
The Uruguay international is expected to continue in a top European league ahead of the World Cup in November.
09.14 BST: Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe says a decision over his future is "almost done."
Mbappe, 23, will be out of contract in the summer and has been linked with a free transfer to Real Madrid, while PSG are desperate to get the France international to sign a new contract.
"It will be known very soon, it's almost done," Mbappe said after being named the Players' Player of the Year in France for the third year in a row. "My decision is made, yes, almost. Why was I so slow? You have to respect all parties.
"I know that people expected a lot from me. That's normal. I'm in a hurry too. But it's not only about me. But here it is, it's finished right now, there are just some details left."
08.30 BST: Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has indicated that Antoine Griezmann will continue at the club next season.
Recent reports in Spain claimed that Atletico would not extend the loan of the Barcelona forward after a disappointing season in which Griezmann has only scored eight goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.
Asked about the 31-year-old's future at the club, Cerezo said on Sunday: "He will continue. Will we have to renegotiate [his wages]? That is the least important thing. When a player wants to play in a club, money is the least important thing."
Griezmann, whose contract with Barca expires in June 2024, reportedly earns €18m per season. The deal between the clubs was an initial one-year loan, with an option to extend it for a further year, renewable by either party. Atletico also have the option to make Griezmann's stay permanent for around €40m but are unlikely to exercise it.
PAPER GOSSIP
- As ESPN reported earlier on Sunday, Paulo Dybala will be leaving Juventus when his contract ends in June, and Tuttosport has offered an insight into where the Argentina frontman could go next.
Inter Milan are the current front-runners, while Jose Mourinho wants to take him to AS Roma. There is also interest from the Premier League, with Arsenal looking to sign him, though that will be possible only if they secure Champions League football.
- Calciomercato has joined other outlets in further reporting Juventus' interest in Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, but they have also added that the Turin club see Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as an alternative.
Lazio are aiming to bring in a sum in the region of €60m to €70m for the Serbia international, hoping that interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Man United will increase the transfer fee. Juventus will need to offload the likes of Arthur and Rangers loanee Aaron Ramsey if they are to complete a deal for Milinkovic-Savic.
- On the day that AC Milan took a large step toward winning their third Scudetto this century, Sky Sports Italia reports that the Rossoneri have formalised their interest in Liverpool striker Divock Origi.
The Belgium forward, whose contract ends in June, had initially asked for €4.5m-per-season to join Milan, but he could be willing to accept €4m, says the report. There are now expected to be negotiations between player and club to reach an agreement on the finances.
- Aston Villa have joined Crystal Palace and Brentford in showing an interest in signing Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo. And journalist Ekrem Konur has now reported that Villa have readied a £7m trnasfer offer as they aim to reunite Steven Gerrard and Aribo, who worked together before Gerrard left the Scottish Premiership side to take over at Villa Park.
