LIVE Transfer Talk: Chelsea muscle in on Paris Saint-Germain's Achraf Hakimi pursuit

With most of the major European seasons now complete, the rumour mill has been sent into overdrive as clubs ponder their moves ahead of what will be a busy transfer window. Check out the latest gossip below, and see all official deals here.

TOP STORY: Chelsea match PSG offer for Hakimi

Chelsea have matched Paris Saint-Germain's offer for Internazionale wing-back Achraf Hakimi, and the Italians are said to favour the Blues' proposal, according to Sky Sports Italia.

The offer from both clubs to sign Hakimi is for a fee of around €60 million, which falls short of Inter's valuation of nearer to €75m. However, Inter are interested in Chelsea's defensive duo Emerson Palmieri and Andreas Christensen, who could both be offered in exchange as part of the negotiations.

Inter are said to be particularly keen on Palmieri on loan, though Chelsea would prefer the move to be permanent.

Morocco international Hakimi scored seven goals and registered 10 assists last season and has subsequently become a target for a number of Europe's top clubs.

The 22-year-old joined Inter from Real Madrid last summer for €40m and was an influential part of the club's Serie A title-winning season.

Hakimi can play as a right-back or wing-back, the latter suiting Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel's system of a five-man backline.

21.56 BST: Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot and Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz are fresh off impressive campaigns on loan at AC Milan, and Gazzetta dello Sport reports that in all likelihood the pair will return to the San Siro in 2021-22 on loan with options (or potentially obligations) to make their moves permanent. However, the Rossoneri have yet to agree figures with either United or Madrid, making the situation a fluid one.

21.19 BST: Negotiations between AS Roma and Torino to take Italy striker Andrea Belotti to Rome have broken down, according to Corriere dello Sport, and as such Jose Mourinho & Co. have turned their attention to 26-year-old Zenit St. Petersburg front man and Iran international Sardar Azmoun.

20.42 BST: Barcelona missed out on Georginio Wijnaldum, who opted to sign for Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent, and will need to move on to other targets in midfield. Mundo Deportivo writes that one such option could be 24-year-old Lorenzo Pellegrini of AS Roma, who has one year remaining on his contract (which contains a €30m buyout clause) and has no plans to extend his stay in the Italian capital. Complicating matters, however, is that Atalanta are said to possess a €20m option on the Italy international's rights, as well as interest from Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.

20.05 BST: AC Milan led Serie A for a long stretch of the season, yet still finished a disappointing 12 points behind champions and local rivals Internazionale. So, naturally, they're looking to strengthen this summer to mount a proper title challenge in 2021-22, Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

For starters, the Rossoneri will look for some backup to left-back Theo Hernandez, and with Junior Firpo having seen limited minutes at Barcelona, the 24-year-old is said to be available for a move to the San Siro. There's also a desire to add creative options, which is where Hakim Ziyech comes in. The 28-year-old playmaker endured an inconsistent first season in a crowded Chelsea attack, and if the Blues are open to a loan arrangement, Milan would be keen to bring in the Morocco international.

19.28 BST: With Luciano Spaletti now in the dugout, Lazio are looking to refresh their attack, according to Corriere dello Sport, which notes that the Roman outfit have identified 33-year-old forward Josip Ilicic (who has just one year remaining on his contract at Atalanta) and 27-year-old forward Matteo Politano of Napoli as the men to ease the pressure on Italy striker Ciro Immobile.

18.51 BST: Barcelona have been linked with a move to sign free agent forward Memphis Depay for the better part of a year, but Mundo Deportivo writes that the Catalan club have been outbid by Juventus, who are offering the 27-year-old Netherlands international €3m more per season. The Blaugrana reportedly have told Depay's camp that they can go no higher with their wages, but have offered adding another year to their deal: three years plus an option for a fourth.

18.14 BST: Twenty-five-year-old Spain international Fabian Ruiz has two years remaining on his contract with Napoli, and Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the midfielder has rejected two contract offers from the club to extend his stay in Serie A, suggesting that he could be pushing for a return to his homeland amid reported interest from Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid. And consequently, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis will not entertain any offers containing a transfer fee of less than €60m.

17.37 BST: It's been reported in recent days that Callum Hudson-Odoi is intent on fighting for his place at Chelsea amid renewed interest from Bayern Munich, but according to Kicker, that could change if Thomas Tuchel & Co. are successful in luring 22-year-old right-back Achraf Hakimi to Stamford Bridge this summer.

17.00 BST: Are Tottenham being smart with their move for the former Juventus sporting director?

16.14 BST: France and Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was forced to make a quick getaway from a pre-Euro 2020 news conference on Wednesday after an impromptu interrogation from Les Bleus teammates Kingsley Coman and Presnel Kimpembe over a possible move to PSG.

But he turned up at his own news conference today to be faced by the same questions as his United contract expires in 2022.

"Contacts with Paris? There's a year left on my contract; everyone knows that," he said, in quotes reported by RMC Sport. "I haven't had a concrete offer to renew [from Manchester United]. I haven't sat down with the directors and the manager; I'm still at Manchester.

"My only thought, now, is the Euros. I'm focused. I've got more experience than before. I'm focused on the present, the Euros. I have an agent that deals with all that. I don't have [PSG president] Nasser [Al-Khelaifi]'s number."

15.25 BST: Arsenal fans, take note. Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana's year-long ban by UEFA for violating doping rules has been reduced to nine months after an appeal, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said in a statement on Thursday.

Traces of the banned substance Furosemide were found in the Cameroon international's urine during an out-of-competition test on Oct. 30, Ajax said in February, leading to a year-long ban for the player from all football activities.

A panel of CAS arbitrators in charge of the matter partially upheld the player's appeal and reduced his ban that commenced on Feb. 4, meaning he will now be eligible to play from Nov. 3.

Onana, 25, has been linked with the Gunners as a replacement for Bernd Leno, but his ban had complicated the potential deal.

15.01 BST: Barcelona have no money so it would be interesting to see how they could pull this one off, but Sport reckons they want to sign Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling.

The report says that "Barca are confident of raising funds in the coming weeks to be able to make a big name signing this summer, someone who excites the supporters and raised the level of competition within the squad."

Sterling, 26, has a contract with City until 2023 but has dropped down the pecking order a tad this season as Phil Foden has emerged.

Barcelona still want to extend winger Ousmane Dembele's deal beyond 2022 but if he doesn't put pen to paper then the club will look to replace him.

14.20 BST: Tottenham have turned to former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca as their managerial search takes yet another twist, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.

Spurs have so far struggled to appoint a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho -- who was sacked in April -- having explored the possibility of Mauricio Pochettino returning to the club and Antonio Conte taking charge.

Sources have told ESPN that a three-year contract has been discussed with 48-year-old Fonseca, who left Roma last month and has subsequently been replaced by Mourinho.

It remains possible that Spurs could turn to Erik ten Hag despite his decision to sign an extension to his contract at Ajax but Fonseca is now considered the front-runner for the position.

14.02 BST: Georginio Wijnaldum has signed for Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer from Liverpool.

Wijnaldum, 30, agreed a three-year deal with PSG after deciding to run down his contract at Anfield, which expires at the end of June, turning down interest from Barcelona and Bayern.

"Signing for Paris Saint-Germain is a new challenge for me," Wijnaldum said. "I'm joining one of the best squads in Europe and I want to bring all my desire and commitment to this ambitious project. Paris Saint-Germain have proved how good they are in recent years and I am convinced that together, with our supporters, we can go even further and higher."

13.48 BST: The Athletic says that "Arsenal are still pursuing targets for both full-back positions."

One of those, at right-back, is RB Leipzig's Tyler Adams. The 22-year-old US international "can play both as a right-back and as a central midfielder, which makes him a good fit for [Mikel] Arteta's 'inverted' system on that flank."

But Leipzig won't be keen to let him go after seeing Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich) and Ibrahima Konate (Liverpool) depart this summer for a combined €84m.

13.16 BST: Manchester City are chasing Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer.

12.26 BST: Sport1 says that Bayern Munich have ended contract talks with winger Kingsley Coman after his agent Pini Zahavi requested a raise of €8m per year.

Coman, 24, has a contract which expires in 2023 and Bayern are keen to extend. However, talks are stalled and that has seen Manchester United and Chelsea take note.

11.51 BST: Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga is on the radar of Arsenal, says Sudinfo.

Lokonga, 21, looks set to leave the Belgian club in the coming weeks as they look to replace him with Argentinos Juniors' Fausto Vera.

The Gunners are keen, with Monaco, Sevilla and Bayer Leverkusen also interested at around €20m.

11.27 BST: Jordi Alba says the way Barcelona gifted Luis Suarez to rivals Atletico Madrid last September was a "joke."

Suarez, 34, went on to score 21 goals in La Liga, including the winning goal in each of the last two games of the season, as Atletico beat Barca and Real Madrid to the title.

"It was a joke," Barca defender Alba told Cadena Ser. "He's someone who gave a lot to Barcelona and they practically gave him away for nothing, above all to a direct rival in Atletico.

"And look, they went on to win the league with him. I didn't like it. Aside from the friendship we have, where are you going to find a striker like him? It is difficult to find one. Yes, there are some very good players, but what Luis gave us..."

Suarez, who could eventually cost Atletico €11m in add-ons, said he was "underestimated" by Barcelona after winning the league last month.

"He won the league and shut a lot of mouths," Alba added. "His last year wasn't easy at Barca and he's had the chance to shut some people up. I can tell you that the atmosphere [at Barca] with Luis was spectacular. He's a guy that works hard, that was great for the group and the numbers speak for themselves: [he's] the third highest goal scorer in Barca's history."

11.11 BST: Kylian's Mbappe contract with PSG runs out in 2022, so he can decide where he goes next.

10.45 BST: French side Marseille are targeting a move for Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho this summer.

Mundo Deportivo, citing reports in Brazil, says the club's Spanish president, Pablo Longoria, is "thinking big" and wants to build a squad capable of competing for the Ligue 1 title next season.

The report adds that Marseille coach Jorge Sampaoli, who was appointed in March, is a big fan of Coutinho, although the financial side of the deal could prove a stumbling block.

Coutinho, 28, joined Barca for a club-record €160m from Liverpool in 2018 and commands a huge salary. However, sources have told ESPN that the Brazil international is one of the players Barca are keen to move on this summer as they look to restructure their squad.

Sources close the player, meanwhile, say future plans are on hold until he's recovered from an injury that has left him sidelined for the last six months.

10.09 BST: Lautaro Martinez's agent has confirmed the Inter Milan striker would like to play for Barcelona one day but said there has been no contact from the Catalan club this summer.

Martinez helped Inter win Serie A this season, but the Italian side could be forced to let him leave to help ease their financial burden.

"We have to resolve the situation with Inter first, but of course he would like to [play for Barca]," Alejandro Camano told Diario SPORT. "Who wouldn't? They're one of the biggest clubs in the world. [But] no one from Barcelona has called me. I have a very good relationship with [director of football] Mateu Alemany, but there's nothing, so we're not thinking about it now."

Camano said that reports Inter would want €90m from clubs to sign for Martinez were "exaggerated" and confirmed the forward had turned down the chance to extend his contract, which runs until 2023, by an additional year.

"Inter made us an offer but for now we've said that we are happy how we are," he added.

09.50 BST: Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United are all keen on Brighton's £50m-rated defender Ben White, say the Daily Mirror.

White, 23, had a fine season and his inclusion in England's 26-man squad for Euro 2020 has only increased the interest in him.

Arsenal are the latest club to be linked but will struggle to raise the kind of fee that Brighton want.

09.27 BST: Inter Miami CF co-owner Jorge Mas is "optimistic" about bringing Barcelona forward Lionel Messi to play in Major League Soccer.

Messi, 33, is out of contract with Barca at the end of June and has previously expressed a desire to play in the United States in the final years of his career.

Barca president Joan Laporta is "convinced" Messi will extend his stay at Camp Nou in the short term, although the club are working on a long-term deal that would allow him to end his career in MLS.

Mas has confirmed that he and co-owner David Beckham are hopeful of accommodating the Argentina international in Miami if he does decide to move to the U.S.

"David and I have been working really hard, we have aspirations of bringing the best players here and Messi is a generational player, arguably the best player of all time," Mas told the Miami Herald.

"I am optimistic Messi will play in an Inter Miami shirt because I think it will complete the legacy of the greatest player in our generation and will meet with the ambitions of the owners of Inter Miami to build a world-class team."

09.04 BST: Celtic have confirmed former Australia boss Ange Postecoglou as their new manager on a 12-month rolling contract.

Postecoglou joins Celtic from Yokohama F. Marinos, where he won the J League title.

"The opportunity that has been given to me is one of the greatest honours in football and the responsibility to lead our magnificent football club into the future is one that I will cherish dearly," he said.

"Celtic is one of THE names in world football, of that there is no doubt -- a giant of a club, a proper footballing institution and so much more - real history, real substance, real authenticity and real soul. I know Celtic is a true way of life for so many people and I know the demands which come with this position -- I am ready to do all I can to meet those demands.

"I will be doing everything I can to get our great Club back on top and, at the same time, deliver the kind of football which our fans appreciate. We want to entertain our fans and we want to win, these are the objectives which I always set myself and which I now begin work on."

08.46 BST: Ilkay Gundogan is waiting for an indication of how strong Barcelona's interest in him is before committing to a new contract at Manchester City, The Sun reports.

Gundogan was City's top scorer last season as they won the Premier League title, his third in five seasons at the club.

The 30-year-old is a target for Barcelona, while City may look to transfer the Germany international if he is not prepared to sign a new long-term deal.

08.00 BST: Celtic are on the verge of confirming Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, sources have told ESPN's Tom Hamilton.

Postecoglou has agreed personal terms, and Celtic have settled compensation with J1 League side Yokohama F. Marinos. Sources have told ESPN Postecoglou is due to take up the post in July.

Celtic also needed the approval of UEFA for the move, as Postecoglou does not hold a UEFA Pro License. With all terms agreed, he is set to replace Neil Lennon, who resigned as Celtic boss in February.

Postecoglou, 55, has been in charge of Yokohama since 2018, and led them to the J1 title in 2019. He has also won the A-League with Brisbane Roar, and managed Australia from 2013 to 2017, where he won the 2015 Asian Cup.

PAPER GOSSIP (by Nick Judd)

- Tottenham Hotspur appear to be edging closer to their first signing of the summer: Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram. Thuram has scored 25 goals in two seasons in Germany.

- Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is not only staying in Manchester next season, he's expecting to be the club's No. 1, according to the Sun. The 30-year-old Spaniard had a mixed season in 2020-21 and battled it out with Dean Henderson for a starting place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's starting XI, and he was at one point rumoured to be on the verge of an exit from Old Trafford. However, De Gea believes his future remains in Manchester.

- Arsenal have been offered former midfielder Aaron Ramsey by Juventus, with the Italian giants keen to take Hector Bellerin in the other direction, according to Sport. They're reporting that Ramsey could be in line for a stunning return to north London after leaving the club in 2019. He has made 65 appearances since, but Juve are keen to freshen up their squad and bring Bellerin to Turin.

- Atletico Madrid have rejected an offer from Manchester United to sign right-back Kieran Trippier, according to Football Insider. United have made a formal bid of £10m for the 30-year-old but have been told they will need to increase their offer if they're to have any chance of landing the England international this summer.

- Jose Mourinho's Roma are closing in on a deal for Granit Xhaka from Arsenal for around £15.5m, according to Corriere dello Sport. The former Gladbach midfielder has been linked with the Italians for a number of weeks and it appears as though the Giallorossi are close to finally landed the 28-year-old. Xhaka was a divisive figure among the Gunners' fan base, but Mourinho will feel he's getting a midfielder in his prime. Arsenal are believed to be chasing Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers in an effort to bolster their own squad.
