LIVE Transfer Talk: Man City enter race for Leverkusen star Havertz

The coronavirus pandemic has made the summer transfer window uncertain, but here are the rumours floating around Europe's big leagues and beyond.

TOP STORY: Man City enter race for Leverkusen star Havertz

Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz is of interest to pretty much every top club in Europe, but now Manchester City are part of the race, says The Sun.

Havertz, 20, is valued at around €100 million with Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona seemingly most keen.

City will be looking to replace David Silva, 34, who will leave the club when his contract expires in the summer. Young Phil Foden has been tipped for the job, so it will be interesting to see what happens to his career if they choose to sign Havertz.

However, former Leverkusen, Man United and Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov believes the German should wait a bit longer before moving.

"I would like to see Havertz in the Premier League at some point, but not right now," he told Betfair. "I think it is a bit too early for him, I want to see him play more games, score more goals and get more confidence and maturity.

"I also think he will need a bit more muscle to play in the Premier League, we all know how defenders can squash you and smash you into pieces and you need to be ready for that if you are going to hit the ground running in such a demanding league. I think he should stay at Leverkusen and develop even more and get that experience which will help him for when the time comes to go somewhere else."

22.41 BST: Good news for Leicester City fans.

The Daily Star understands that the Foxes are leading the race for Liverpool attacker Adam Lallana. The England international will be available on a free transfer come the end of the season and Brendan Rodgers, who brought Lallana to Anfield in 2014, remains an admirer of the 32-year-old.

Lallana, who has seen his playing time decrease in recent seasons amidst a string of injuries, could elect to reunite with his former boss at Leicester, where he would figure to get more playing time and also likely have an opportunity to play Champions League football.

21.53 BST: Liverpool outcast Loris Karius recently prematurely terminated his loan spell at Besiktas and it looks as if his time at Anfield is nearing an end.

Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin could throw Karius a lifeline with sources telling Goal, that Berlin have made enquiries regarding the 26-year-old shot-stoppers. The German keeper, who lost his confidence after a couple of key errors in the 2018 Champions League final, is still only 26 years old and could fancy a return home.

Liverpool seem prepared to move on from the ex-Mainz keeper, and Hertha, who currently have Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic on loan, would seem a good opportunity for Karius to reignite his once very promising career.

21.10 BST: With Luke Shaw's health a constant concern, Man United have reportedly identified a long-term replacement for the Englishman.

That player is Monaco's Fode Ballo-Toure, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

Castles told the Transfer Window podcast: "The player that Man United are looking at is Fode Ballo-Toure.

"He's a 23-year-old left-back. He is an exceptionally quick, very powerful player, physically has lots of stamina and strikes me as having a very good profile for English football from a physical perspective."

Shaw had been playing well before the coronavirus shutdown but his injury history remains a worry for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

20:21 BST: Everton and Arsenal to battle over French midfielder?

The English clubs are both reportedly in negotiations with Juventus to sign out-of-favour playmaker Adrien Rabiot. A massive talent who broke through with PSG, Rabiot quickly wore out his welcome with the French giants and is reportedly now doing the same in Turin.

Signed last summer on a free by the Old Lady, Rabiot has yet to produce a goal or an assist in 17 games for Juventus and according to Le10Sport, he will be transfer listed this summer. Rabiot would likely cost somewhere in the neighborhood of £27 million.

19.34 BST: Celtic centre-back Kristoffer Ajer is a wanted man with Everton, Leicester, PSG, Man City and now Real Madrid all reportedly monitoring the Norwegian.

Mundo Deportivo writes that Madrid are the latest club to show interest in the towering defender, who could leave Celtic Park this summer. Only 22, Ajer, is being discussed as a potential long-term replacement for the now 34-year-old Sergio Ramos.

18.59 BST: Arsenal to swap Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Justin Kluivert?

Football London suggests that the Gunners could bring back one of Kluivert, 21, or Lorenzo Pellegrini, 23, in a swap deal for the Armenian. Roma are desperate to make Mkhitaryan's stay at the Stadio Olimpico permanent and could elect to swap a young player rather than pay for the 31-year-old.

Mkhitaryan, who joined the Italian club on loan in August, has scored six times and laid on four assists in 20 games for the Giallorossi.

18.03 BST: Have Rangers secured a permanent deal for loan star Ianis Hagi, the son of Romania legend Gheorghe?

While Romanian agent Giovani Becali, who does not represent Hagi, claims he has confirmation of a £4m deal between Rangers and Genk, no deal has been completed according to the Scottish Herald.

A deal between the two clubs IS still expected to be completed at some point, with Hagi having impressed at Ibrox with three goals and two assists in 12 games for Gers.

17.16 BST: Remember when Barcelona spent an initial £96.8 million for Ousmane Dembele back in 2017?

Well three years later the Catlan club are looking to offload the Frenchman for as little as £37m, according to Spanish paper Sport. With Barca looking to raise funds to sign Inter's Lautaro Martinez and/or Neymar, the 23-year-old is expected to leave the Camp Nou this summer.

Once regarded as one of the brightest talents in the sport, Dembele has scored 19 goals and added 17 assists in 74 games with Barca but has struggled to stay healthy and also has gotten himself in trouble with the club's board a couple of times. PSG are the favourites to land the pacy winger and will be hoping Dembele can rediscover the sensational form he showcased while at Borussia Dortmund.

16.30 BST: Dortmund starlet Gio Reyna is getting a lot of attention these days ... possibly even from Spain.

15.36 BST: Sergio Aguero will "see what happens" after his Manchester City deal expires in 2021, according to his agent Hernan Reguera.

Aguero, 31, has been linked with a move to Inter Milan and has always said he would return to Argentine side Independiente to finish his career.

"Sergio has a contract with Manchester City until 2021, and there is no chance of him leaving before that," Reguera told FCInterNews.it. "We'll see what happens after that. I haven't spoken to Inter, and the reason is very simple: Aguero is happy with the Citizens and has no intention of changing club."

14.12 BST: Anyone want a 27-year-old World Cup winner? Slightly used. Jurgen? Anyone?

13.43 BST: Portuguese newspaper Record says that Sporting Lisbon's 17-year-old Joelson has caught the eye of Arsenal.

Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also keen on the forward but his representative Kia Joorabchian has a good relationship with English clubs and it's reported that the Premier League is his preferred destination.

Sporting want Joelson to sign a new contract with a €100m clause inserted to protect his value, but there will be plenty of clubs circling before he does.

12.57 BST: Juventus are reportedly keen to spend €75m on Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland next summer by paying his release clause.

However, the club will also make a move for Napoli's Arkadiusz Milik, according to Tuttosport. The 26-year-old would be reunited with his former boss at Napoli, Maurizio Sarri, as Juve look to sell Gonzalo Higuain.

11.46 BST: Man United cut their losses on Romelu Lukaku and sold him to Inter? Was that an error?

11.11 BST: Barcelona manager Quique Setien has been speaking to BeIN Sports and it seems he's not one of those bosses who won't talk about player at other clubs. Quite the opposite in fact.

On PSG's Neymar: "Without doubt I'd be really happy to be able to coach Neymar. Absolutely. He's a player with an exceptional level, no-one can doubt that."

On Juventus' Miralem Pjanic: "I always say that I like all the great players. Pjanic is a great player, but there are also other great players that we see in the newspapers every day."

On Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez: "There are four or five players in that position and any one of them could play for Barca. He's obviously a player who could adapt perfectly to what we look for in the team. But there are others too."

10.39 BST: Chelsea have signed up Willy Caballero and Olivier Giroud to new contracts amid the coronavirus pandemic, but they look like they will struggle to persuade Willian to do the same.

"It's a difficult situation because Chelsea offered me two years and they are not going to change what they offered. I said I wanted three more years,' the 31-year-old winger told Brazilian outlet Esporte Interativo.

"The situation is difficult because of this. I really don't know if it will be possible [to stay]. My goal is to continue working and focus on the remainder of the season, so that Chelsea can continue winning games.

"I have a clear head and I'm focused for the rest of the season that we have left. I think it's difficult [to stay]. Let's see what happens."

10.08 BST: Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said the club's option to buy Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona for €120m has now expired.

Coutinho, 27, has been on loan at Bayern this season but hasn't managed to secure his long-term future and plenty of clubs are interested in trying to do a deal this summer.

"The option expired and we haven't activated it," Rummenigge told German magazine Der Spiegel. "We're going to plan our squad for next season and we'll see if he still has a role to play with us or not."

09.42 BST: Real Madrid full-back Achraf Hakimi has been on loan at Borussia Dortmund for the past two years but will return to Spain this summer, according to his agent.

Real have Dani Carvajal, Alvaro Odriozola and Nacho Fernandez competing for the first XI spot at right-back but Hakimi is highly-rated after impressing in the Bundesliga.

The Morocco international has been linked with Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal but, asked about an approach from Inter Milan, Achraf's agent Alejandro Camano, told El Mundo Deportivo: "There is no such offer. We will return to Madrid."

09.00 BST: Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico is "open" to a transfer and that has Arsenal interested at around £20m, reports The Sun.

Tagliafico, 27, is being tracked by Chelsea, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid but the report states he is "believed to want to test himself in the Premier League next season."

The Gunners signed left-back Kieran Tierney from Celtic last summer and also have Sead Kolasinac on the books, alongside talented youngster Bukayo Saka who is more of a winger than a defender but has been filling in this season amid injuries to the other two.

If they land Tagliafico then it allows Saka to move higher up the pitch and may see Kolasinac sold.

Onana dilemma for Barcelona?

Barcelona may be facing a roadblock in their pursuit of Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer, Marca reports.

While Onana has been heavily tipped to make his way over to the Nou Camp in order to compete with Marc-Andre ter Stegen for the No. 1 spot, the Spanish giants have a series of youngsters rising up through the ranks that may make the potential Onana deal redundant.

Inaki Pena is at the front of Barca's prospects queue as the future of Onana continues to be a great source of speculation.

AC Milan want Kamara

According to a report from Calciomercato, AC Milan are edging closer and closer towards a potential move for Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara.

The 20-year-old is widely considered to be one of the slickest defenders in European football, with Milan following his progress closely.

While Marseille had been hoping to receive a large chunk of cash for Kamara, their financial troubles may force their hand -- opening the door for Milan to get themselves a bargain.

David Luiz reiterates Benfica return desire

Arsenal defender David Luiz has once again stated that he is interested in a return to Benfica before retirement.

Luiz, who got his first big break with the Portuguese club prior to joining Chelsea, spoke in a recent interview about his love for Benfica and how badly he wants to return one day.

"I always said that I would like to end my career at Benfica," he was quoted in the Daily Star. "In football everything changes, what is true today, tomorrow is a lie, but my feeling is not!"

This may not be music to the ears of Mikel Arteta, but you can't accuse the Brazilian of lying.
