Toe Poke Daily: Neymar to play monk in Netflix show

The Toe Poke Daily is here every day to bring you all the weirdest stories, quirkiest viral content and top trolling that the internet has to offer, all in one place.

JUMP TO: Pique, Vidal win almost €500k at Poker | Ball hits two players in face

Neymar to play a monk in Netflix show

His day job might be a little up in the air at the moment, but at least Neymar can rest assured that his TV career is moving from strength to strength.

The PSG forward has signed up to appear in two episodes of "La Casa de Papel" (The Paper House), a popular Spanish drama series on Netflix.

Neymar will play a Brazilian monk in two episodes of the third season of the show, which is one of his favourites.

Neymar isn't the first footballer to move into the world of TV acting. Recently, Netflix's "Apache: The Life of Carlos Tevez" came out, though doesn't actually star the man himself, while Alexis Sanchez has a role in a film which he's very excited about (probably more than playing for Manchester United.)

Here's a list of some stellar cameos from years past in the world of TV.

Pique, Vidal net almost €500k at Poker

After sealing Barcelona's first victory of the season on Sunday evening, Gerard Pique and Arturo Vidal put the icing on the cake by both winning big at a professional poker tournament the very next day.

Pique made it to the final table and eventually claimed a €352,950 pot by finishing second (out of 70 entrants) in the Single-Day High Roller event at the 2019 PokerStars EPT Barcelona festival.

Vidal took home €134,460 by finishing fifth, less than 24 hours after scoring in Barca's 5-2 demolition of Real Betis at Camp Nou.

The event was won by Spanish poker pro Juan Pardo, who scooped a top prize of €491,600 after emerging victorious from the star-studded final table.

Ball hits two players in the face

It's always funny when a player hits another player in the face with the ball. But in the U.S. Open Cup final between Atlanta and Minnesota, one came back with interest.

Miles Robinson planted the ball right into Justin Meram, but the rebound returned to hit him as well.

Thankfully neither player was too shaken and helped Atlanta to a 2-1 win in the end.
