Singapore record lowest-ever FIFA ranking at 171, behind Malaysia

Southeast Asian giants Singapore have fallen down the pecking order in the latest FIFA world rankings and are in 171st place, behind archrivals Malaysia in 164.

V. Sundramoorthy's charges are in the final phase of preparations for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup in Manila, and were held to a goalless home draw by Malaysia earlier this month, before succumbing 3-1 away to Hong Kong four days later.

Philippines continue to be ranked top among Southeast Asian nations at 124, while Vietnam (136), Thailand (146) and Myanmar (156) follow closely behind.

Ong Kim Swee's Malaysia went down six spots to sit at 164, while Indonesia move up to 179 having recently returned to the international fold after FIFA lifted their suspension.

Cambodia have shocked the region with their performances in the ongoing AFF qualifying championship and were rewarded with a move up the rankings to 167.
