There was plenty of drama around Europe this mid-week, but everything pales in front of this -- Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player in football history to score 800 goals in official competitions (according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics). A few moments later, he made it 801. One player. EIGHT HUNDRED AND ONE GOALS. The all-caps feel appropriate. Liverpool have scored 43 league goals this season, more than any other side within Europe's big five leagues. 25 of those have come away from home, which after seven matches is the most in the top-flight since Burnley back in 1961-62 (also 25).

Sergi Canos' own goal against Tottenham Hotspur is the first Brentford have scored in the PL. They are the 49th of the 50 sides to play in the competition to have scored at least one OG. The lone exception? Cardiff City (76 games, 0 own goals).

Athletic Bilbao's loss at Real Madrid meant their 7-game away unbeaten streak in LaLiga has been snapped. It had been the club's longest road unbeaten streak to open a LaLiga season since 1929-30, when it finished the 18-game season unbeaten.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, have stretched their home unbeaten streak to 17 (last home league loss was Jan. 30 vs. Levante). This is the longest active home unbeaten streak in LaLiga and 3rd longest in Europe's top 5 leagues (Inter Milan (24) and Napoli (18)).
