Ethan Horvath becomes first American to play for Club Brugge

United States international goalkeeper Ethan Horvath has become the first American to play a game for Club Brugge in their 125-year history, the club announced on Friday.

Horvath, 21, moved from Norwegian side Molde to the Belgian club for €1 million in January, but had yet to suit up for his new team.

However, the former Real Colorado man was included in the starting lineup in the side's 3-1 victory over Sporting Charleroi on Friday.

Horvath has received one cap for the U.S. over his young career, playing the full 90 minutes in a friendly against Cuba on Oct. 7.

He has been a semi-regular call-up to the national team, and was included on their Copa America Centenario roster last summer.
