Mexico's Omar Govea joins Royal Antwerp on loan from Porto

Mexico midfielder Omar Govea has signed for Royal Antwerp on a one-season loan from Porto, the the Belgian club confirmed on Thursday.

The 22-year-old was on loan with Royal Excel Mouscron last season and impressed, earning a call-up to the Mexico squad last November and then again in the March friendlies earlier this year.

Govea's agreement includes a purchase option and the San Luis Potosi native could debut as early as Sunday, when Antwerp takes on Club Brugge.

Leander Dendoncker made one appearance in the World Cup for Belgium.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have continued their summer spending hours before the Premier League transfer deadline by finalising a loan with Anderlecht for midfielder Leander Dendoncker.

Dendoncker, 23, will move to the club next summer on a permanent deal. He is the sixth signing for Wolves and will be available to make his debut in the club's opener against Everton on Saturday.

Club Brugge won the Belgian league.

Club Brugge won their second Belgian title in three years with a 1-1 draw at their closest challengers Standard Liege on Sunday.

Brugge were the runaway leaders at the end of the regular season, before all points were halved at the start of the playoffs between the top six teams.

Standard made a spectacular run from outsider to title challenger but failed to get the vital home win against Brugge and are now four points back with one game to play.

Henry Onyekuru poised for Anderlecht return after knee surgery

Anderlecht striker Henry Onyekuru, on loan from Everton, is set to make his first senior appearance of 2018 as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

Onyekuru, 20, who joined Everton from Eupen last summer and was then sent to Anderlecht, has been sidelined since December after surgery on damaged ligaments.

The Nigeria international, who has nine goals in his 14 top-flight starts for the Brussels club, played 25 minutes for the reserves at the weekend and hopes to feature in Sunday's league...

Former France international Claude Makelele joined Belgian side Eupen as their head coach in November 2017.

Former Chelsea and Real Madrid man Claude Makelele steered Eupen to safety after an incredible last-day finale in Belgium's top flight.

Makelele, who worked as assistant coach to Carlo Ancelotti and Laurent Blanc at Paris Saint-Germain, was appointed in November with the mission of saving Eupen from relegation to Belgium's second tier.
