Thomas Muller, Franck Ribery in Bayern squad for ICC in Singapore

German giants Bayern Munich have announced that they are bringing a star-studded squad for the 2017 International Champions Cup (ICC) in Singapore later this month.

2014 World Cup winners Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng are all scheduled to make the trip, while French attacker Franck Ribery, Dutch winger Arjen Robben and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski have also been named in the Bayern squad.

The five-time European champions go up against 2017 English Premier League winners Chelsea and Italian giants Inter Milan at the Singapore Sports Hub, and followers of the European game will have the opportunity to see some of the biggest names in world football.

Fans of Manuel Neuer will be disappointed that the German national team goalkeeper is still recovering from a metatarsal injury, while Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal has been excused due to his participation in the recent Confederations Cup.

German stars Joshua Kimmich, Sebastian Rudy and Niklas Sule also miss out after playing their part in Germany's triumphant Confederations Cup campaign in Russia.

Carlo Ancelotti's side, who won the Bundesliga this year for the fifth consecutive season, continued their preseason preparations with a 9-1 win over amateur side FSV Erlangen-Bruch on Sunday, with Hummels and Muller both making appearances.

After more of their star players return to training this week, they take part in the annual Telekom Cup in Monchengladbach on Saturday -- a four-team tournament featuring fellow Bundesliga sides Borussia Monchengladbach, Werder Bremen and 1899 Hoffenheim.

Bayern's Asian trip begins when they fly to China on Sunday. There, they will face Arsenal and AC Milan in the first clashes of the ICC before arriving in Singapore ahead of their game with Chelsea on July 25. It will be a rematch of the 2012 UEFA Champions League final, which the English side won on penalties.

Bayern then play Inter in Singapore on July 27 before they head back to Germany as the start of the Bundesliga season approaches.

The ICC will be the first time that top-flight teams from Europe play against each other in Singapore, and fans will be delighted that Bayern are bringing some of their biggest names.
