Bayern Munich fined for fans' setting off of fireworks at away games

Bayern Munich have been hit with a €15,000 fine after the club's fans set off fireworks during two away games this year.

Bayern were punished for incidents at their away games at Wolfsburg and Leipzig towards the end of the season when flares and smoke bombs were lit by travelling supporters.

Furthermore, a Bayern fan invaded the pitch in added time in the goalless draw at Bayer Leverkusen in April, causing a delay to the game.

The Bundesliga champions have accepted the fine, sanctioned by the German Football Association (DFB) on Tuesday.

Fans in the away enclosure fired smoke bombs at Wolfsburg's Volkswagen Arena in April, while flares were also lit during the final away game of the season in the Red Bull Arena Leipzig.

In January, Bayern received a further a €15,000 fine after the club's fans set off fireworks during away games at Eintracht Frankfurt and Darmstadt.
