Robert Lewandowski back for second leg against Madrid - Rummenigge

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski will return when they attempt to overturn a 2-1 Champions League deficit at Real Madrid next week, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said.

Bayern lost a 1-0 lead in the first leg at the Allianz Arena as Cristiano Ronaldo struck twice in the second half to put Madrid in charge of the tie.

The Bundesliga champions were without top scorer Lewandowski, who missed out due to the shoulder injury that saw him substituted during the 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund.

"The medical department did an outstanding job, but the risk [of Lewandowski playing in the first leg] would have been too high," Rummenigge told reporters.

"But he will return, 100 percent, for the reverse fixture."
