Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer out for Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund

Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has said Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer will miss the Bundesliga game against Borussia Dortmund at the weekend but insisted both of the Germany internationals will "definitely" be fit to face Real Madrid in the Champions League next week.

Goalkeeper Neuer underwent toe surgery last Friday, forcing him out of Bayern's previous two games, while Muller also could not play in Bayern's 1-0 loss at third-placed Hoffenheim on Tuesday -- the league leaders' second league defeat of the season -- after injuring his ankle in the 6-0 win against Augsburg last Saturday.

"Muller is not available and neither is Neuer," Ancelotti said at a prematch news conference ahead of the Klassiker.

"Neuer started individual training today and while everything is going according to plan, it's a little too early for tomorrow. We don't want to take any risks, but Neuer and Muller will both return to team training on Sunday and will definitely be ready for Real Madrid."

Promising "no rotation," Ancelotti said: "We need the best team -- players that didn't play against Hoffenheim will play against Dortmund."

The former Real Madrid boss could recall rested Spain midfielder Thiago Alcantara and captain Philipp Lahm, after both sat out the midweek defeat.

Ancelotti has three central defenders to choose from with record signing Javi Martinez and German World Cup winning duo, Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels, all vying for a starting spot.

With Wednesday's Champions League quarterfinal first leg with Real in mind, Ancelotti said: "Boateng is fresh and will start against BVB -- whoever doesn't start against Dortmund will play against Real Madrid."

Meanwhile, Douglas Costa is also set to make his comeback in the Klassiker after missing Bayern's last three games with a knee injury, with Ancelotti confirming the Brazil winger "had trained well today and can play tomorrow."

Ancelotti was expecting a tough game against "one of the best teams in Europe" coached by "one of the best trainers in the world" in Thomas Tuchel.

"We know all about the quality of BVB and will need our best performance to win the game," he said.

With seven games remaining, league leaders Bayern are currently 10 points ahead of nearest challengers RB Leipzig and 15 points clear of fourth-placed Dortmund, who are battling with Hoffenheim for a direct Champions League qualification spot.
