Philipp Lahm: 'Careless' Bayern Munich are not in crisis

Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm refused to make excuses after Bayern Munich suffered a shock 3-2 loss in Russia to Champions League newcomers FC Rostov.

Commenting on Bayern's second straight defeat and third game without a win in all competitions, following the Bundesliga loss to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, Lahm told Sky Deutschland: "We are Bayern Munich, we must win here -- regardless of the cold or the pitch.

"We're too careless at the moment, especially with our passing game. We are not alert enough that the opponent can score goals too.

"It's not a crisis but we need to sort it out as soon as possible. We're making too many mistakes and we're being punished."

Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti echoed his captain's sentiments, and said: "We made too many mistakes after scoring the opening goal.

"We didn't play well, and that's why we lost. We're finding things very difficult at the moment.

"I've got to assume responsibility and get the team back on track."

There are also concerns over defender Jerome Boateng, who was withdrawn with a thigh injury in the second half and could miss the weekend.

"Jerome Boateng is rated doubtful for FC Bayern's Bundesliga meeting with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday,'' read a brief statement on the club's website.

"Boateng will undergo a thorough examination on arrival in Munich on Thursday for an exact diagnosis.''

For Rostov coach Ivan Daniliants it was an an achievement to savour.

"This game with Bayern was a great event and this is a glorious victory of our guys,'' he said.

"They have felt the full extent of the love of all our fans, even those who are far from the city and the country. I have received many messages and from Kazan and other cities.

"This victory is a special line in the history of our football.''
