Arjen Robben missing Netherlands game for extra Bayern Munich training

Arjen Robben will miss Netherlands' friendly with Belgium in order to undergo extra training with Bayern Munich, but will link up with the squad for the World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg.

Robben, 32, took full part in Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti's training sessions on Monday and Tuesday with the blessing of Netherlands coach Danny Blind.

The winger will miss his country's friendly against Belgium in Amsterdam on Wednesday after Blind allowed his captain to stay in Munich for extra training.

Deprived of the services of Robben for almost a year due to injury, Netherlands failed to qualify for Euro 2016 and currently lie in third place in their World Cup qualifying group behind France and Sweden ahead of a crucial qualifier in Luxembourg on Sunday.

"I want Robben at 100 percent against Luxembourg," Blind said.

The Netherlands skipper has won 88 caps, but has not played for his country since a 3-2 friendly win against Wales on Nov. 13, 2015.

Meanwhile, Germany internationals Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich also trained with Bayern on Tuesday before meeting up with the rest of the Nationalmannschaft squad, including club teammates Mats Hummels and Manuel Neuer, for the World Cup qualifier against San Marino and friendly with Italy.
