Bayern Munich may lose stars to €150-200m bid from Premier League - Kahn

Bayern Munich legend Oliver Kahn has told kicker it is a matter of time before one of the club's stars seals a big-money move to a Premier League club.

Bayern have been able to seal long-term deals for key players Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Jerome Boateng, with the trio all signing terms to remain until 2021.

Kahn praised the club's "far-sightedness in extending these contracts," but warned "it won't be long before a club bids €150-200 million for a Bayern player."

Kicker pointed out to Kahn, now a TV pundit with ZDF, the fact that stars like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar were all currently playing in La Liga, but Kahn said that the lure of the Premier League is "particularly tempting."

"English clubs are now able to pay crazy amounts even for average players," he added. "The best players will gather in the league with the most money. Therefore, in the future, it will become even more expensive and trickier for Bayern to hold on to top players, such as Robert Lewandowski, let alone to sign them in the first place."

Kahn, who won the Bundesliga a record eight times with Bayern, said new boss Carlo Ancelotti reminded him of former coaches Ottmar Hitzfeld and Jupp Heynckes -- both of whom led the Bavarians to Champions League success during their tenure.

Kahn also commented on former Bayern boss Pep Guardiola's treatment of Joe Hart, who was sent out on loan to Torino from Manchester City.

"The manner in which Joe Hart was hounded out of the club was typical," he said. "Guardiola could do with improving his people skills."
