Pep Guardiola's influence on Premier League will be devastating - Kimmich

Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has been impressed with his former coach Pep Guardiola's start to the Premier League season with Manchester City.

"I've seen their games against Manchester United and Borussia Mönchengladbach, the way they're topping the table is extremely commanding," the 21-year-old told ESPN FC on Sunday.

"It's fascinating to see the way he's been able to leave his mark on the team in such a short space of time. They play a completely different football than last season. If I'm honest I'm not surprised, however."

Kimmich believes Guardiola, who helped him break into Bayern's team last season, will have a lasting impact on English football, too.

"In Germany, some people said he failed at Bayern because he didn't win the Champions League. But I think Bayern were rarely as dominant as under him, when they won three championships in a row.

"He's somewhat revolutionised football here. And I believe his influence in England will be devastating, too."
