Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski not concerned about new contract

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski says he is in no rush to decide his future, as he has another three years left on his contract.

Lewandowski, 27, joined Bayern on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, when he signed a contract until 2019.

Last season, the Poland captain scored 42 goals in 51 games in all competitions for Bayern and there were reports he was set to renew his deal until 2021, while Bayern Munich CEO Karl Heinz-Rummenigge insisted that he was ready to extend the striker's contract.

"My contract theoretically expires in 2019, which is still a long time. My focus is on the preseason and season," Lewandowski told Sky Sport News Germany. "We can always have talks and find a solution, but it's not an important subject for me at the moment. My deal will hold valid for three years, it's best if everybody keeps calm for now."

Lewandowski also praised the club's new manager Carlo Ancelotti.

"I only have to say good things about Carlo. He is a superb manager, I like his philosophy and new ideas," he said. "We have a very good understanding and I hope that we can win many titles this season."

Bayern have won the Bundesliga in four consecutive seasons, including three domestic doubles. They won the Treble in 2013 under Jupp Heynckes, but could not go beyond the Champions League semifinal in three seasons with Pep Guardiola at the helm and Lewandowski added: "We all know what we have to do, which is important for us players. We all have a good communication with Carlo."

Ancelotti can win his first piece of silverware with Bayern on Sunday as the club face Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup at the Westfalenstadion.
