Odell Beckham Jr.: I am a Bayern fan

New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. is looking forward to Bayern Munich's visit to New York in early August and says he hopes to watch the club in the International Champions Cup this summer.

Beckham Jr., 23, recently spent three days in the Bavarian capital and visited Bayern Munich's training facilities at the Sabener Strasse, and also cruised around town with defender David Alaba.

Bayern will embark on a tour of the United States early next week and will play Real Madrid at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Aug. 3, where Beckham Jr. hopes to be among the spectators.

"I'll try and be there," he told Bild. "I like to play FIFA [the video game], and I have played many games with FC Bayern. It's great to visit their training facilities. I am a FC Bayern fan.

"They will play in our stadium during their U.S. tour. I will try to be there, and I will to return [to Munich] next season and watch a few games."

The 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, who has named David Beckham as one of his "childhood idols," added that he sometimes regrets not pursuing a career in football.

"I started [playing football] when I was two, and played until I was 14. Sometimes I wish that I were a footballer," he said, adding that he would have preferred an attacking position. "Right wing or forward. I like to score goals."
