Carlo Ancelotti is looking forward to joining the Bayern Munich 'family'

Incoming Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti is looking forward to joining the "family" at the Bundesliga champions.

The Italian manager is taking over from Pep Guardiola at the Allianz Arena this summer and will begin his role at the club on July 1.

And speaking to the Financial Times in an extensive interview, Ancelotti spoke of his positive impression of Bayern as a club.

"I have not had so many meetings with them, but I think it is a family," Ancelotti said. "They have former players on the board and the club is 70 percent owned by members."

Ancelotti has won the Champions League three times in an illustrious managerial career that has included tenures at Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

Despite his success, he is rarely mentioned in discussions about defining managers of the last two decades, but Ancelotti says he tries not to allow the lack of recognition to have an impact.

"You have possibilities to be angry every single day," Ancelotti said. "But the happiness is not in the credit, it is in the work, in the relationship with the players, with the staff. I don't worry what they put in newspapers."
