Carlo Ancelotti ideal coach for Bayern Munich, says Nicolas Anelka

Former France striker Nicolas Anelka says Franck Ribery will enjoy playing under Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern Munich because the Italian is the best manager he ever worked with.

Anelka, 36, has first-hand experience of Ancelotti's style, having seen the former Real Madrid boss in action when they were both at Chelsea between 2009 and 2011.

Ancelotti, 56, is set to take over from Pep Guardiola at Bayern next season. Bayern midfielder Ribery, 32, is one of the players said to be looking forward to serving under the former AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain coach.

Anelka, who caught up with Ribery in Doha recently, is not surprised that his former France teammate is happy with the appointment.

"No, because Ancelotti is the ideal manager," Anelka told France Football.

"Among all of them that I rubbed shoulders with, and they are numerous, he's without question the one who counted the most for me.

"He was a great player and he understands them.

"He knows how to get the best out of the people he's in charge of.

"He's humane and intelligent [and] does everything so that you might feel in the most favourable conditions to express yourself.

"Once you're on the pitch, you only have one desire -- to give everything for him."

Anelka, whose last role was as player-manager with Mumbai City in the Indian Super League, told France Football that he has not yet retired from football.

The former Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City forward says he will take several months to concentrate on his family life before deciding what his next challenge will be.
