Carlo Ancelotti meeting with Bayern chief doesn't concern Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has said he did not meet with incoming Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti during the Italian's time in Germany this week and said the Italian's rendezvous with the club was "not a problem."

Guardiola is to be replaced by Ancelotti in the summer, with the Spaniard leaving Allianz Arena for Manchester City.

As Bayern claimed a 3-0 DFB Pokal win over Bochum on Wednesday, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge met with Ancelotti in Munich.

Several local papers published pictures of the Italian in a Munich hotel, and his meeting with Rummenigge was, according to tz, of "private nature" and had nothing to do with laying out plans for the upcoming season.

"It's not a problem for me, the club cares about its future," Guardiola said of the rendezvous.

When asked whether he met his successor, Guardiola told reporters at a prematch news conference on Friday: "Did I meet Carlo? No, I was in Bochum on Wednesday, and with my family yesterday."

Carlo Ancelotti is to replace Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.

Before Ancelotti takes over at the Allianz Arena and Guardiola leaves the Bundesliga for City, the current Bayern coach has set himself a number of targets.

"I want to win the next game, and the next one, and the next one," he said. "And see what we can do about the titles. That is our target."

On Sunday, Bayern travel to local rivals Augsburg, where they will hope to retain their eight-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga.

But Guardiola warned that Augsburg are a difficult opponent, adding: "They have quality, a great coach, a great stadium, and great atmosphere."

He also said he has not decided whether Franck Ribery and Mario Gotze will return to the squad after their injuries.
