Outgoing Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has said he needs "enemies" to challenge his development as a manager.
Guardiola, 45, will leave Bayern in the summer after three years at the club, who are on course for a fourth straight Bundesliga title.
Speaking at a PR event in Munich on Monday, Guardiola told Sport1 that he is now looking forward to new rivalries, which will make him better as a coach.
"You've done everything after three, four years [at a club]," he said. "You need enemies to get better. And you need new challenges to get better, always new challenges."
In early January, Guardiola explained that he is not leaving Germany because he thinks the Bundesliga is not competitive enough, but rather because he wants to coach in the Premier League.
He has said he will announce his new club once the paperwork is done, and added that he has several offers from England.
The Spaniard has been criticised or unsettling managers in Premier League, and later apologised, saying that he was "sorry" and it was not his intention because "normally, in my career as a coach, as a player, I respect a lot my colleagues, so I am sorry."
Guardiola has been linked with the manager role at Manchester City, and, last week, Manchester United denied reports of a secret meeting with the current Bayern coach.
