Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski 'not passionate' about Ballon d'Or

Robert Lewandowski is not "passionate" about winning the Ballon d'Or, the Bayern Munich striker has revealed.

Lewandowski has scored 15 goals in 16 Bundesliga games so far this season as well as seven in Champions League and one in the DFB Pokal. However the Poland international was not named to the three-man shortlist for the award, which Lionel Messi won for a record fifth time.

Speaking to Telefoot on Sunday, the 27-year-old admitted the prize doesn't much concern him.

"I'm happy to be in that group of players. I've improved since I joined Bayern," Lewandowski said. "But I can confess that I'm not passionate about the Ballon d'Or."

Lewandowski, who joined Bayern from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, has been linked with Real Madrid and several Premier League clubs in recent weeks.

Another interested club, Paris Saint-Germain, are also in the mix, with star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to leave the Parc de Princes at season's end.

Lewandowski added: "It's very flattering to see PSG officials talk about me but I'm concentrated on my work here at Bayern."
