Bayern's Pep Guardiola vows to reveal future plans on Sunday

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has vowed to announce details about his future plans on Sunday.

Guardiola spoke after Bayern went eight points clear atop the Bundesliga table with Saturday's 1-0 win at Hannover, a game overshadowed by speculation over the manager's decision on whether to leave the German champions at the end of the season.

He has said he wanted to speak to Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge this weekend before revealing anything, and when asked about his time frame for an announcement, the former Barcelona coach replied: "Tomorrow, tomorrow."

"Rummenigge said that we will talk one day after the Hannover match," Guardiola said. "Now we drive to the airport with the bus and we will talk some more. We always talk when we see each other."

Guardiola has been strongly linked to a move to Manchester City, while Chelsea are also reportedly interested and Rio Ferdinand has urged Manchester United to pursue the Catalan.

Meanwhile, The Guardian reported that former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has already agreed to replace Guardiola at Bayern.

Despite a recent spate of injuries, Bayern enter their winter break on the back of Saturday's victory, supplied by Thomas Muller's 40th-minute penalty, and Guardiola praised his players for a remarkable 2015.

"Big compliments to my players," he said. "You have made this year all round, in the Bundesiga, the Champions League and the cup.

"We only had a few players over recent weeks but we wanted to control the game."

Muller said Guardiola's future plans would not affect Bayern's pursuit of trophies while he still leads the team.

"We want to win everything this season, no matter how long it takes with the coach's contract," he told Sky. "I do not know whether he will renew in the end.

"But if he does not renew it does not matter. [Former coach] Jupp Heynckes also did this [in 2012-13] and won the Treble."
