Pep Guardiola agent unsure on Bayern future - 'I don't know what he's up to'

Pep Guardiola's agent admits he does not know whether the coach will commit his future to Bayern Munich, saying: "Not even I know what Pep is up to."

Guardiola is under contract at Bayern until the end of the season, and has yet to announce whether he will stay in Bavaria beyond the summer of 2016.

Bayern have won back-to-back Bundesliga titles under Guardiola and are on course to land another championship having won 11 of their 12 league games this season, while also being favourites to qualify from their Champions League group having thrashed Arsenal 5-1.

The club's CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said last weekend that a decision will be made one way or the other after the final match of the calendar year on Dec. 19 in Hannover.

Last week, Guardiola's agent Orobitg and the Catalan's brother Pere visited Munich, and attended the Champions League match against Arsenal.

"Pep is very happy in Munich. It's a beautiful city, and his family feels at home," Orobitg told Munich local paper tz. "Bayern has taken his shape more and more too. But in the end, he now makes the decision by himself."

Despite Bayern's apparent confidence that Guardiola will sign a new deal, Orobitg added: "Not even I know what Pep is up to. We've exchanged opinions in the past few days, but he is very peculiar when it comes to those things.

"The decision will completely be based on his impressions. It's a fact that his entourage will accept it whatever the decision will be."

Guardiola has been linked with Premier League clubs such as Manchester City and Chelsea, but a number reports last week claimed the Catalan had already made up his mind and is set to sign a new Bayern deal.

Former Bayern full-back Willy Sagnol says Guardiola should coach City next season if he feels he has achieved all he can with the Bavarian giants.

"Guardiola should leave Bayern if he feels that he has done everything he could," Sagnol told kicker. "He should start a new project if that's the case. Coaches always think about projects.

"I reckon Manchester City would be a bigger challenge for him than Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain. There is still plenty of work to do there. They have not won any major trophies yet."
