Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said the club will make a decision on Pep Guardiola's future before the end of the year.
Guardiola's current Bayern deal is due to expire next summer, leading to speculation that he could opt for a new challenge at the end of the season, with Manchester City and England both having been touted as possible destinations.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the club's Champions League match at Arsenal on Tuesday, however, Rummenigge said he remains confident the Catalan will extend his stay at the Allianz Arena.
"There are many pro-Bayern arguments on the table, but probably there are other good-looking brides [elsewhere] as well," the 60-year-old is quoted as saying by Sky Deutschland. "We are quite optimistic that at the end of the day he'll stay in Munich."
Rummenigge said that talks between the club and Guardiola will take place "before the end of the year," while insisting that he is not aware of potential competitors for the Catalan's signature.
"I am not interested in that," he added. "We've got a season to play, and like I've said, I am optimistic that our coach on July 1, 2016 will be called Pep Guardiola. I don't think finances will play a role."
