Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola hopes Robert Lewandowski can "continue his fantastic streak," but admits he wants more from his striker.
Lewandowski, 27, has been in impressive form of late, adding a brace in the 3-0 win at Mainz at the weekend to the five he hit in the 5-1 victory against Wolfsburg last week.
The Poland international has now scored 10 Bundesliga goals in six games, making him the fastest player ever to reach the 10-goal mark in the division, beating Bayern legend Gerd Muller, who needed seven appearances.
But speaking to reporters at his prematch news conference ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb, Guardiola said that Lewandowski can do even better.
"I am very happy with his last two games," he said. "But as a coach you always want more, more, more. It doesn't mean that he has to score more goals. I hope that he doesn't think about scoring all of the time."
Lewandowski not only bettered Muller's long-standing record from the 1977-78 season, but he has now scored 101 goals in just 168 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern. The striker has also been on target 23 times in the Champions League.
"He also has to focus on our play [as well as goals], and fight for the long balls," Guardiola added. "He has to focus on his passes, on our crosses and his chances. But I understand just how important goals are for an attacker.
"Lewy has scored seven goals in two games, he was our key player in those wins. I hope he can continue his fantastic streak against Zagreb. When he tries the best for the team I am happy. And of course, when he scores goals I am even happier."
