Pep Guardiola says he won't 'moan' about recent rash of Bayern injuries

Instead of bemoaning the string of injured key players, Bayern Munich are focused on playing two good matches against FC Porto and advancing to the Champions League semifinals.

Bayern haven been without a host of players for the majority of the ongoing season. But despite the injury-related absences of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thiago Alcantara, Javi Martinez, Franck Ribery, Philipp Lahm, Holger Badstuber and David Alaba, they have so far suffered only three defeats in all competitions, and still could claim the treble as they did in 2013.

At Porto on Wednesday, Bayern Munich will be without midfielders Javi Martinez and Bastian Schweinsteiger, wingers Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben as well as the versatile David Alaba and defender Medhi Benatia.

"There has been enough talk about our situation. We'll try our best, and not moan," Pep Guardiola said in his pre-match news conference ahead of Wednesday's match at the Estadio do Dragao. "Those who stayed behind in Munich can't play."

Guardiola warned that his old Barcelona teammate Julen Lopetgui has formed a strong side at Porto.

"They've got strong build-up players in [Oliver] Torres and Casemiro," the manager said. "They are also good on the counter-attack. They play great pressing.

"They have strikers like Jackson Martinez and [Ricardo] Quaresma to convert deadly passes.

He added: "We need two good games to make it to the semifinals."

Attacker Thomas Muller also commented on the injury situation

"The team had two great experiences in Leverkusen [a penalty shootout win in the cup] and Dortmund [a 1-0 in the league]. Those were intense games," he said. "We've grown together as a group. This can help us in Porto.

"It's about being a unit there. We have confidence."
