Philipp Lahm has made a surprise return to the Bayern Munich squad for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.
Lahm suffered an ankle fracture in training in November last year and underwent surgery before eventually returning to full training on Monday, but Bayern boss Pep Guardiola had said on Tuesday that he was not yet under consideration for selection.
However, Bayern announced on Twitter on Wednesday that club captain Lahm would be included in the 18-man squad for the game at the Allianz Arena, as they look to secure a victory after a 0-0 draw in the Ukraine three weeks ago.
