Pep Guardiola not leaving Bayern Munich despite Man City link

Pep Guardiola has insisted there is no chance he will walk away from Bayern Munich this summer after he was linked as a possible replacement for Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City.

Pellegrini has come under increasing pressure after City's loss at home to Barcelona in the Champions League was quickly followed by defeat at Liverpool in a crucial Premier League game. But Guardiola will not throw his hat into the ring should the Chilean be sacked at the end of the season.

Speaking at his prematch news conference for the cup clash against Eintracht Braunschweig on Wednesday, Guardiola said that he will not leave Bayern in the summer.

"Of course I am going to fulfil my contract here at Bayern. I am happy here and my only idea right now is to stay and work for this club," he said. "I haven't had a contract offer [from another club] and I am not waiting for a contract offer from anyone else."

Guardiola opted to join Bayern in the summer of 2013 ahead of reported interest from several Premier League clubs, and he insists he is committed to a contract which runs until the summer of 2016.

In his first season at Bayern, Guardiola won the domestic double but crashed out in the Champions League at the semifinal stage to Real Madrid. This season, the Bavarians are on course to win their third consecutive Bundesliga title and are still in both the Champions League and the DFB Pokal.

However, in recent weeks there have been doubts over the coach's long-term future and CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has stated there is no rush for a decision to be made on a contract extension.
