Pep Guardiola: There's plenty of time to talk about new Bayern Munich deal

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has told reporters he has no plans to talk about a new contract with the Bundesliga champions just yet.

Guardiola is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2016, and club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has indicated that Bayern are keen to extend the former Barcelona man's terms.

But the Catalan coach said: "I've got a contract for another year, and therefore we still have time to discuss this."

Speaking at Bayern's annual general meeting on Friday, Rummenigge said: "I hope he stays a long time with us. I know him, and I know he is not the sort of person who likes to renew his contract early or places much value on a long-term contract.

"I would only get on his nerves if I were to ask him now. I know when I need to seek talks, and that's not going to happen in the very near future because he doesn't want that."

According to a report in kicker, Guardiola's decision will "hinge on the sporting perspective at Bayern, especially in the Champions League."

His side are continuing to dominate the domestic scene, and took another three-point haul from their trip to Hertha Berlin on Saturday.

For the first time this season, they played Franck Ribery in a deeper role in a 4-4-2 formation, with Arjen Robben behind attackers Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller.

"I quite enjoyed that," Robben, who scored the only goal of the afternoon, told reporters. "The coach makes a lot of changes. He looks at the opponents, and sometimes you play in a different position."

In the second half, Robben switched roles with Mario Gotze, and Bayern could not replicate their first-half performance. "That wasn't a good decision," Guardiola admitted.

Bayern lead the Bundesliga with 33 points from 13 games, and have already opened a seven-point gap on second-placed Wolfsburg.
