Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery feels 'sick' after latest setback

Franck Ribery has told kicker he does not know when he will return to action after a knee injury ruled him out of Bayern Munich's 1-0 victory over Manchester City.

Ribery, 31, endured an injury-hit 2013-14 campaign at Bayern and the Frenchman was then ruled out of the World Cup with a back problem.

He made his first appearance since May's DFB-Pokal final during the 2-0 victory over Stuttgart at the weekend, coming on as a substitute in the 68th minute before scoring the second goal, and said after the match he "felt great relief."

However, Ribery was then ruled out of Wednesday's Champions League match against City after he began suffering pain in his patellar tendon.

Franck Ribery has struggled with a number of injuries during recent months.

Bayern club doctor Hans-Wilehlm Muller Wohlfahrt has ordered Ribery to rest until further notice, and the winger told kicker that he is finding the injury setback hard to take.

"It just makes me sick," Ribery said. "I don't know how long I'll be out for."

Bayern midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has also been sidelined with a patellar tendon since Aug. 10 and has yet to return to team training.
