Lahm, 30, has ended his international career but says he is as hungry as ever and will be full of motivation again when he returns to preseason training.

"After three weeks of holiday -- and I can say this now -- I am really going to be looking forward to getting back in action for Bayern Munich," Lahm told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper. "And at Bayern Munich, we are always chasing big goals."

Lahm, who made a total of 113 appearances for Germany, added: "I'm currently enjoying my holidays and spending time with my family, and this is giving me the peace and time to bring closure to my international career in my mind."
