Pizarro wants Bayern stay

Claudio Pizarro wants to celebrate more Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich as he enters talks about a possible new deal this week.

Claudio Pizarro has been capped by Peru 68 times

Pizarro, 34, has already bagged four titles with Bayern, but with his current contract is about to end. While he has only played the full 90 minutes three times this season, Pizarro added another six goals to his 160 career total.

The 166 goals make him the foreigner with the most goals in Bundesliga history and his total of 352 appearances also rank the Peru international as the foreigner with the most Bundesliga appearances of all time.

“I just don’t hope that this is not my last Bundesliga title celebration,” Pizarro said during Bayern’s title celebrations at the weekend. “Of course, I would have liked to play more but in the end the year turned out to be okay.

Pizarro had returned to Bayern from Werder Bremen as the attacker for “special missions” ahead of the season and so far has played in 27 competitive games this season.

While until now there have been no talks about Pizarro’s future, the Peruvian believes this will change over the next couple of days. “I would like to stay,” he told kicker, adding that talks were about to start this week.
