Javier Hernandez will soon be back in form - Bayer Leverkusen's Voller

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller is confident Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez will start scoring again after a goal drought lasting almost two months.

Hernandez, 28, has failed to find the back of the net in a total of 708 minutes in all competitions but Voller, speaking to reporters on Monday, said he was confident the striker would soon be playing a key role again.

"We still have a few games until the winter break. I am convinced he will score another goal," he said, adding that Leverkusen "need his goals."

Hernandez, 28, has failed to find the back of the net in a total of 708 minutes in all competitions.

The goal drought has resulted in coach Roger Schmidt significantly reducing the Mexico international's playing time, and he was on the bench for the Bundesliga matches against RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich.

Leverkusen are currently 10th in the Bundesliga and trail Eintracht Frankfurt, in the first Champions League spot, by eight points.
