Javier Hernandez eager to return to action in two weeks

Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez has confirmed he will return to action in two weeks after breaking his hand.

The Mexico international fell down the stairs in his home last week, but said on Twitter that the surgery was "perfect."

"Thank God the surgery went perfect," Hernandez said. "Now I have to work hard so that in approximately two weeks I can be back on the field, which I am desperate for!"

Hernandez will be sidelined as Leverkusen open the Bundesliga against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday, as well as for Mexico's World Cup qualifiers against El Salvador and Honduras.

The 28-year-old is slated to return after the international break to face Hamburg on Sept. 10.
