Thomas Muller would have scored for Bayer Leverkusen - Christoph Kramer

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Christoph Kramer has said his side might have beaten BATE Borisov if they had Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller playing up front.

Admir Mehmedi's second-half goal clinched a 1-1 draw for Leverkusen at BATE in a match the Bundesliga side dominated.

Leverkusen had 22 shots on goal, with eight of those hitting the target, but they had to settle for a draw which leaves them level on points with second-placed Roma in Group E.

The German club must now win at home to Barcelona in their final match to stand any hope of qualifying. If they do win, they have to hope Roma fail to win at home to BATE.

"We lack consistency," Germany international Kramer told reporters after the match. "If only we've had a Thomas Muller. He would have scored from the six-yard box past five opponents."

Sporting executive Rudi Voller told kicker that he still believes Leverkusen have "a minimal chance" to progress to the knockout stage.

BATE took an early lead in the game after goalkeeper Bernd Leno allowed a weak Mikhail Gordeichuk shot to slip between his legs.

Leno said: "Such things should not happen to me. Our chances would be better, if you don't always fabricate such s---."
