Switzerland international Josip Drmic has said he is disappointed by the "lack of trust" shown in him since his arrival at Bayer Leverkusen.

But Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller urged the former Nurnberg attacker to be patient, saying he would not be moving to another club in the winter transfer window.

Switzerland international Drmic, 23, scored 17 goals for Nurnberg last season, attracting interest from clubs throughout Europe even though they were unable to avoid relegation.

But his move to Leverkusen has seen him make only one Bundesliga start and score one goal so far, and he has been linked with a winter move to Werder Bremen or Hamburg.

He told Luzerner Zeitung: "I don't comment on speculation. I need to focus on my job.

"But I would have wished for more trust and game time. I have to note that my good World Cup and my good season last season have been forgotten very soon."

Voller told Bild the move "has not worked out the way we hoped so far" but added: "We hope Drmic can turn the corner."
