Bastia refuse to reschedule Ligue 1 game after fan violence

Bastia have refused to accept a decision by Ligue 1 to move their match against Nantes on Saturday to the afternoon.

The match was originally scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. local time, but the league rescheduled it to 2 p.m. at the request of government officials in the area following violent incidents involving the Corsican club's fans last weekend.

Bastia said in a statement it won't accept the league's "unilateral" decision and that "the stadium doors will remain closed at the time ordered by authorities."

A crowd of about 100 people in Bastia attacked a police station with projectiles and Molotov cocktails last Sunday in response to arrests following a Bastia's match in Reims. Bastia won the game 1-0 and one of the Corsican city's fans was injured in a scuffle with police.
