Arsenal to assess Alexis Sanchez for Norwich trip after 'hamstring alarm'

Arsenal will monitor the fitness of Alexis Sanchez to play at Norwich on Sunday after he suffered a hamstring strain in Tuesday's Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb.

Sanchez, who scored twice to set up a winner takes all final group game against Olympiakos, may now miss out against the East Anglians.

Manager Arsene Wenger, who has both Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fit to play again, could decide to omit him if there are any doubts over his fitness.

But he told a news conference: "Spontaneously it might not be the best moment to rest Alexis, but I don't know. He had a little hamstring alarm, but we will see how he recovers from that.

"Joel Campbell had a little calf problem so I will assess all that on Friday, and at the latest Saturday.

"We have providers. Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla all have quality while Mesut Ozil is not just a provider now -- he likes to get on the end of things."

The Gunners travel to Carrow Road looking to bounce back from last weekend's 2-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion, a game in which Wenger felt his players had been unfortunate.

"For us, it was a bad result," he said. "But on the day, everything went against us.

"It was an unlucky day, that can happen in a season but after it is how you respond to that and we did that well on Tuesday."
